No, that is your strawman. I never said zero or none. I correctly pointed out every economic metric has remained on the same trend line since 2010. The tax cuts did not affect it.
You said "nothing" and "no effect". You also said some other remarkably ignorant comments. You denied that a business would take any action after a tax cut. I guarantee you that they will immediately find a way to put that money to use. You were so busy trying to say I was wrong that you did not pay much attention to what you were saying.
I am in favor of a balanced federal budget, so don't take this the wrong way. 2018 federal spending budget: $4.1 trillion BATFE budget: $1.3 billion DEA budget: $3.1 billion Total of both: $4.4 billion This is somewhere in the vicinity of one half of 1% of the budget. Foreign aid is $50 billion which is just over 1% of the budget. So my point is this: To get anywhere near balancing the budget by shrinking the government, we would have to accept gigantic cuts in defense, medicare, and other social welfare programs (like medicaid as just one example.) The American public will not accept cuts like that. To balance the budget just by shrinking government, we would have to cut somewhere around $780 billion.
right. Not zero. That’s your strawman. They didn’t take any action after the tax cut. . Most did stick buy backs. you were wrong.
I'm for cutting it anywhere. Literally anywhere. But I figure maybe we should start with the least popular stuff, to get more folks on board.
But do you see the problem I'm driving at? What we would have to do to balance the budget, and what we're willing to do don't match up. When I say "we", I don't mean you personally; I mean America collectively.
Nothing and one is zero. So you checked with the thousands of businesses and not one took any action after the tax cut.? Most likely most of them made changes. That is what businesses do. Buy backs are actions. It reduces their debt load. Some companies increased the pay of employees and some lowered prices. You said everything I said was wrong. What other conclusion can I come to? I know how businesses operate.
Yes I do. But I bet we could get BATFE and DEA defunded. No one on the left likes the DEA, no one on the right likes the BATFE, and a careful campaign to get rid of them both at the same time would likely be successful. If it had a likeable, well spoken figurehead. I know its a drop in the bucket, but buckets can be emptied a drop at a time.
No We have the economic data. They didn’t do anything. Which companies lowered prices? clearly you don’t.
Definition of none is "none" "by no amount at all". I understand that. I think it should be illegal and the congress should be fired for malfeasance. We voters are irredeemable.
