Call it whatever you want, so long as the parents ultimate decision is followed.

It's none of your business. Parents may think that 3 year olds shouldn't be taught homosexuality or any sexuality.

It came up in conversation, my son told me, he was basically laughing at her, you know how teenage boys are :)

I'll also mention that my kids are polar opposite, one is extremely outgoing and domineering the other quiet and easygoing, yet both of them immediately dumped health as a subject as soon as they could. They both felt uncomfortable with the subject matter, my son refused to go to school when they had to discuss sexual relationships in front of peers (this was year 7 or 8 ) and my daughter recently said she didn't want to know all this info about drugs, if she wants to know something she will google it herself...I also got the feeling she didn't like discussing the topic in front of peers although she didn't actually say so... I could be mistaken.

There are however some kids who have gone militant in their climate change protest attendances etc, however these kids also have mostly lefty parents.

When they all have to be together all day, and don't need one hating another student for something so stupid as ones born sexual preference.
Why do some hate for there to be tolerance? Why do some want to promote hating other people who are not like them?

Does Jesus promote hate? I assume Christian is in the background to think a sexual orientation is a sin.

If parents are the one paying the tuition for students, they should have final say in what the students are taught and are not taught.

They shouldn't. But they should be taught to be tolerant of others. Not hate others.

There is a significant difference between encouraging tolerance, and promoting a particular lifestyle choice as being superior to all others.

Where has any lifestyle been promoted superior to others? Link?
I'd say the Christian type people that's all they do is promote their lifestyle as the only lifestyle one should live.

But to non Christians, all lifestyles should be treated as equal. Do you agree?

And that's why they shouldn't be Democrats, the party of slavery, Jim Crow, the KKK, ANTIFA fascists, Progressive fascists or BLM Maoists.

I'm sorry - I didn't realize we were talking about 3 year olds. What 3 year old is taking online classes?

I firmly believe that educators must teach kids how to think, not what to think. One big problem I ran into was that parents and administrations felt that it wasn't our job to teach students thinking skills. (In fact, there was once a movement to put more focus on critical thinking skills but it got shut down by those who wanted the focus to be on testing.) I also ran into some parents who demanded I do one thing, while others demand I do the opposite. I welcome parental involvement, but as time went on, parents began bringing their politics into everything. They began to interpret unit goals and learning targets through their political biases. There is a tipping point where parents become too involved (negatively) in the classroom and learning goals can't be met.

Also, schools are in the unique position of having to deal with racial, homophobic, and other types of bullying. They're expected to deal with it. They should deal with it. But when parents resent their children being held accountable for behaviors (the norm these days), schools are stuck with finding a way to convince students it's not ok to behave negatively according to prejudices.

The teachers who made the comments on social media reflect very similar concerns. It's worth noting that Matthew R. Kay, the one who made the comments in the OP, refers to topics and course material not in the standard course of study. Things like race conversations and other theories would be elective, not required. In that sense, parents can just say no if they're opposed to it.

Doesn't matter. Excluding parents from the child rearing equation and brainwashing kids was a fascist thing, in particular, a Hitler thing. Ever hear of the Hitler youth ,,, that was responsible for psychotics like Soros?

Democrats promote hatred. I don't know any Christians who are consumed by hatred like Democrats. Woodrow Wilson hated blacks. FDR hated Jews, blacks and Asians. Have you ever observed destruction like the ANTIFA Democrats are unleashing in the NW? I think not.

yep, kinda like the schools that banned kids recording teachers without the teachers permission when the teacher got caught telling children they would go to hell if they did not believe in Jesus and then accusing the child of lying - course did not know he ws recorded - bad teachers on both sides

Correcting parents implies that what the teachers are saying is correct.

The teachers do think they're correct. I would hope, anyway.

But parents should still have the final say.

The one TRUE blessing of the pandemic; children have been removed from the indoctrination centers and the indoctrinators are having a cow.

I had not seen those before. Thanks. I fully understand the apprehensions expressed. Been there, done that. All I ever wanted was to see students master their language and become stronger critical thinkers. I had many who had different political perspectives than me, and I never pushed my beliefs on them because that's not what we were there for.
