    Look, the current estimate for deaths from covid in the US is currently approaching 140,000 people. Even allowing for;

    1) inconsistent methodologies being applied by various US State and county officials when assigning cause of death death to covid;
    2) a (small %) of potential false positive or false negative test results (the test is fairly reliable) which BTW means the results could go up or down;
    3) The assigning of death by covid to cases where the person initially recovers but then subsequently dies some days/weeks later of unidentified causes or causes which cant be definitively linked to COVID e.g. a heart attack in someone with a coronary artery disease.
    4) Other random issues/mistakes (e.g accidental double counts of one set of local figures etc).

    There is simply no way to make that number magically disappear. Even if you allow for a 10 % false positive reporting of covid as a cause of death is anyone seriously going to argue that 126,000 is somehow a dramatic improvement? 'See only 126,000 plus actually died from covid, no big deal. Really?

    The only way you can make the bad news go away is to argue hoax and conspiracy. Those two magical words that let people who don't like the reality of what they are seeing wish the whole problem away. So you can be like Dorthy in the Wizard of Oz, click your heels together and make 'Covid' disappear - just like a flat earther every time they see a space launch on the news or you can except it is a serious problem, albeit there is a margin of error in the data.

    Oh and to give a comparison I've used before. The estimate for total US combat deaths during World War 2 is 416,000. There's every chance based on current trends that covid deaths will in the US will exceed 150,000 people and may approach if not reach 200,000 people before the pandemic is over.

    "The alarming surge in coronavirus cases nationwide may surprise some, but for epidemiologists like Dr. Jennifer Nuzzo, the uptick was expected.

    Nuzzo, an epidemiologist and professor at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, warned about the current spike back in early May, as states started to reopen without adequate testing in place.

    "That's really a troubling trend. COVID-19 cases are surging nationwide, erasing months of progress," she said.

    "The case growth is bigger than what we saw in March before we shut down. So it's really, really disappointing that we are now possibly worse off than we were back before all of the shutdowns began," she said.

    Without measures in place to stop the rise in cases, Nuzzo said she predicts that the U.S. could experience a second wave of outbreaks and infections.

    "Any average flu season is a challenge for hospitals. It fills them up. It makes staff work overtime and sometimes they run out of supplies. And then you add to it the enormous challenges that we're seeing with COVID-19. I deeply worry about health systems and their abilities to manage this in the fall," she said

    Now, Nuzzo is warning that the one-two punch of rising coronavirus infections and the coming flu season could overwhelm hospitals this fall and result in more loss of life."

    Please provide any proof you have that a significant number of deaths are being misappropriated to Covid-19

    Sorry but whatever point you tried to make got swallowed up by your shallow insults and selective data, culminating in sort of a muted burp. You disallowed the addition of national stress, an upswing in violence, undiagnosed illnesses due to fear and missed Dr. appointments, suicides, and of course the addition of the china virus to a nation carrying an obesity epidemic.

    It’s actually a woman and her name is Dr. Ezike. She’s the Director of the Illinois Department of Public Health. This video is over 2 months old. I’ve posted this video with the text numerous times. Here’s the part that disturbing.
    "If you were in hospice and had already been given a few weeks to live, and then you also were found to have COVID, that would be counted as a COVID death. It means technically even if you died of a clear alternate cause, but you had COVID at the same time, it's still listed as a COVID death. So, everyone who's listed as a COVID death doesn't mean that that was the cause of the death, but they had COVID at the time of the death." Dr. Ezike outlined.

    Now, also go to this CDC link and read the part about [1Deaths with confirmed or presumed COVID-19, coded to ICD–10 code U07.1]

    And here is something she said in May weeks after that video to clarify her impromptu statement to the press:
    There are also some additional deaths that happen in someone who happened to be COVID positive, but where the COVID infection had nothing to do with the deaths,” she said. “So we are at IDPH trying to remove those obvious cases where the COVID diagnosis was not the reason for the death."

    ~ Apparently if someone is tested twice as positive it counts as two "cases" . Interesting ( and goofy ) way to do things. :ashamed:

    Huge majority of people including those who work in the medical profession are only tested once and afterwards only when they show symptoms so very rare for anyone to show up as positive twice. Though I agree with you which is why I only followed the number of deaths initially but once the rate of deaths decreased (for the UK) I'm more interested in the number of positive cases as that will show the direction of the virus in my country. Overall, I will follow the excess number of deaths as I believe that will give a more indicative effect of the virus

    That's happening all over the country, if a person dies and is infected with CV-19 it is reported as a CV-19 death.

    Ezike said that the state is being careful to make sure to weed out deaths where the patient had COVID-19, but died in a manner completely detached from the virus, such as gunshot wounds or motor vehicle crashes.

    There are also some additional deaths that happen in someone who happened to be COVID positive, but where the COVID infection had nothing to do with the deaths,” she said. “So we are at IDPH trying to remove those obvious cases where the COVID diagnosis was not the reason for the death. If there was a gunshot wound, if there was a motor vehicle accident, we know that that was not related to the COVID positive status.

    “We are trying to make sure that things that aren’t related at all to the COVID diagnosis are removed, but if someone has another illness, like heart disease, and then had a stroke or other event, it’s not as easy to separate that and say COVID didn’t exacerbate that existing illness. That would not be removed from the count,” she added.

    Yes and no. Some reporting agencies will report the number of positive tests, regardless of whether it is the same person who tested positive or not. Other reporting agencies will report the number of individuals who test positive.

    The differences in reporting is generally included as well, but mistakes will obviously be made when you have thousands of reporters working somewhat independently of each other.

    Well no ****.

    Now present any proof you have that a significant number of people are being counted as Covid-19 deaths despite Covid-19 not being an obvious causal factor in their death.

    "ORLANDO, Fla. - A person who died in a motorcycle accident was added to Florida’s COVID-19 death count, according to a state health official.

    FOX 35 News found this out after asking Orange County Health Officer Dr. Raul Pino whether two coronavirus victims who were in their 20s had any underlying conditions. One of his answers surprised us.

    “The first one didn’t have any. He died in a motorcycle accident,” Pino said."

    And cases like that will be removed from the stats at a later date. Odd that you missed out the bit where Dr Pino stated:
    "Dr. Pino was asked if the man’s data was removed.
    “I don’t think so. I have to double-check,” Pino said. “We were arguing, discussing, or trying to argue with the state. Not because of the numbers -- it’s 100…it doesn’t make any difference if it's 99 -- but the fact that the individual didn’t die from COVID-19…died in the crash

    Yet you have made it look like the doctor was trying to hide that the patient died in a crash instead of you showing that the doctor was saying that the patient should not be included in covid deaths

    That is your interpretation, but you are wrong.

    There are plenty of doctors, this Dr. Pino included apparently, who are frustrated with the false attribution of deaths to COVID. I've merely provided you with an example.

    Like Dr. Pino, I hope this misattributed death is corrected, and that all deaths would be more accurately reported instead of the rush to label everything as a "COVID death".

    Do you have any evidence that a significant number of cases are being misreported to Covid-19?
