Thanksgiving, Another Uniquely American Holiday

    I don't know of any other country that has a celebration like the American Thanksgiving because of what Thanksgiving is based on. It's not just a fall harvest celebration

    We have put an American spin on a cultural norm of sorts in the celebration of a successful harvest. We can note that we were not the first to record this song and still love what Americans have done covering it.

    I don't see any arrogance I see celebration and thanks so why are you trying to turn it into something that should be frowned upon?

    Who cares where or when it originated? If people wish to give thanks that's great. If they don't they should shut their pie holes and not rain on the parade of those who do. :)

    In fact, I completely agree with this sentiment (bolded). My comment is directed at the OP who was U-S-A chest thumping and trying to use Thanksgiving as another 'we are the greatest nation in the world' moment. I just don't think that's necessary and defeats the whole purpose of the holiday.
