Odd, as the last two bridges I saw constructed here in my county were built by American, not Chinese, contractors.

China is not the existential threat some would like her to be, nor do I believe the goal of China is one of global dominance. They just want to secure resources to feed their economy. China's rise has everything to do with the economic engagement between the US and China after Nixon opened them up and split them off from the USSR, and China will ultimately becoe the world's largest economy--not that this is saying much, since they have a quarter of the world's population living there. Sheer numbers will win that one for them.

Ah, trolls. Got to love them.

I would absolutely love to see a reference for this!

I mean, think about it. Even if a company is Chinese, are they going to (and be able to) have Chinese workers come over to the US, then do the work? And with the living expenses added in (since it will cost more for them to live here then people who already live here), would it be anywhere near cost effective?

This sounds like a big load of coprolite to me.

Spread the legs, not the word, because that's what's going to happen. Han women go crazy in the presence of American men. They wet themselves in anticipation. Why? Because they are unaccustomed to warm affection. You know that's true. Han culture is not exactly warm.

I was thinking more along the lines of Canadian legs being spread in order to receive a dose of lightning.

Is that all you have learned from your marriage? Your Chinese wife should have taught you better.

Don't mistake my comment to mean China only wants peace. Chinese leadership wants their resources--if they have to fight for them, they will. The US still needs to be ready to face the threat, we just don't need to be jumping at every shadow that pops up.

Lust is a prerequisite to love. My old wife has taught me many things including the meaning of sacrifice and endurance. Those are Han cultural characteristics. I have taught her about humor. That is not a Han characteristic.

Ah yes, the East span of the Oakland Bay Bridge.

And no, it is not being built by the Chinese. It is being built by the Fluor Corporation (of Texas), and the American Bridge Corporation of Pennsylvania.

Some componants of the bridge however are prefabricated in China, most notable the decking. And other parts come from other places, like England, India, and Mexico.

However, the bridge is designed and built by US companies and US workers.

A joint venture between two American companies, American Bridge and Fluor Enterprises, won the prime contract for the project in early 2006. Their bid specified getting much of the fabricated steel from overseas, to save money.

Do not just believe the hype, research the details.

That is what all girls need to beware of when they rush headlong into the trap of love.

Sure, the poor woman has to endure a lot.

Whether Chinese are lacking in sense of humour is open to dispute, but I know at least they do not lack "cents" of humour.
