The town hall last night in CNN was a disgrace. All the black people claiming they are always scared of cops and how if they don't act perfectly, they can get killed. There was a mom in the audience, crying because she fears for her son's life.. this is a disgrace, it really is. First of all, let's talk facts. It's not only blacks that are somewhat afraid of cops, everyone is. I'm caucasian and every time i get stopped, i'm nervous because i never know if the cop is having a bad day, in a bad mood and so i act like a puppy... As a caucasian male, i have been stopped several times by cops, for speeding, expired license plate and yes, dwi once. I hear some blacks claim 'I get stopped cause i'm black'... well, i'm caucasian and i have been stopped several times, at least 7 times. Also, i have dealt with cops who are not very nice and some who are nice. Also, the notion that blacks need to be fearful of dying at the hands of cops is so ridiculous... a black person who obeys the law and acts respectfully has a better chance of getting struck by lightening than get killed by a cop. If you are a black kid and you live in a crime infested neighborhood, you are 100 times more likely to be killed by another black man than a cop... Black mom's should be much more scared of thugs, dealers and gang members than cops; in fact, they should be asking for more cops. In Chicago alone, 150 murders, 650 shootings and this in less than a year's time. The facts show that out of 100 police stops where white cops stop black folks, there is a .000000000000000000000000000001% that you will get killed, especially if you act respectfully. Cops are human beings, not robots people. If you are black and you think you are scared when a cop stops you, consider this - Cops are also scared because every time they stop someone, they can get killed. When a cop stops someone for a routine traffic violation, they don't know if they are running into someone that has something to hide, someone that will shoot them. So think about this, they are also scared so don't f resist arrest or get into an altercation with a cop.. These people risk their lives to do a thankless job for little money...
