The electoral college needs to go, its broken and only serves to disenfranchise voters

Wow its almost like at the time the 13 states were practically seperate nations that had self ruled for hundreds of years and were only coming together to protect their way of life and did not see each other as Americans but people from other states as Aliens and that the states were completely self ruling and pseudo independent until the 14th amendment, so having the president represent the several states made more sense.

But of course you refuse to admit that times have changes and now as a nation that sees its self as 1 nation of Americans that the president should represent the majority,

The President should represent all of America, not just the majority. We have the Senate and Congress to give our voice to the government. The bigger the population, the more voices they have to government.

So the president should represent the minority?
The president as the face of the nation should represent the views and values of the majority.

The one that has largely set trend lines set during the recovery, that ‘robust economy’? Or the one being propped up by governmental debt?

Bull crap. What you want is the big states to have all the power and the smaller states to have none at all. Because that's the way it would work under a popular vote. Under our system, all states have a say and the big states get their power over the smaller states through Congress.

I would ask you to elaborate but that doesn’t seem to be your strong suit.

So you’re afraid he will refuse to turn over the White House keys to an incumbent President ???

That’s hilarious. The booming economy is the result of Obama’s policies. Too funny.

Homelessness? While I’m sure mental illness accounts for a sizable portion of it I don’t see how that portion of it is facilitated by government. I live in an extremely conservative area and we have our fair share of homeless to next to homeless individuals — and our local government is fairly hostile to them.

Obama spent around nine trillion dollars. More debt than all the other Presidents combined. What did we get for all that debt? Over 90% service and part time jobs. Many that wouldn't support a living wage, much less a family. Trump has racked up a little over two trillion of debt, 700,000 of that debt to rebuild the military Obama let go to hell. Then went on to build one of the hottest economies in decades. Who got more for their money?

We are not a nation of 250 years ago, 13 states, or a place where only white male landowners are allowed to vote. The citizens of a smaller state would still have much greater representation in the senate, over representation in the house and and equal representation in the presidency. What we have is vastly unequal, vastly unproportional, and unjust.

Fun fact, the first time the Majority of persons living in the United States of America considered themselves American first and their state second was the civil war after the founding fathers were dead. Aw shucks. That means their whole electoral system for the president was meant for a completely different time

Obama spent 9 trillion over eight years trying to rebuild a crashed economy, a 74% increase in the National Debt left by Bush 2 who increased the debt by 101% from the debt left by Clinton — strange how y’all leave that out. Furthermore, Trump is on pace to surpass Obama at current spending levels yet he inherited a recovery not a recession.

As for the much needed military “rebuilding”, we spend more than the next five nations combined and our spending is almost 2/5’s of world military spending — it needs to be cut down. Significantly

It’s caused a major problem running along Appalachia. Worse than anything I’ve seen and I’ve lived all over the country.

    Is that what I said?
Are you capable of even basic reading comprehension?

Obama had to work with a Republican Congress for the majority of his two terms so no, it was not a result of Obama’s policies. Just like the economy today has virtually zero to do with trump.

Poverty and education is another reason for missing teeth around these parts.
Tennessee is trying to tackle that with free community college and no cost dental and medical programs but we still have many people that would rather suffer and retain their sense of pride than accept help.

    It’s truly sad

That's crazy, it has everything to do with Trump's policies. Obama had the highest corporate tax in the whole industrial world and put on record numbers of regulations. Trump reversed that and the economy took off like a rocket. Even with the Democrats going against everything Trump wanted to do.

In a race to the finish, Obama administration presses ahead ...

As the future Trump administration begins to take shape, the Obama White House is engaged in a frenzied, final effort to put in place as many new rules and regulations as time allows.

More than $22 billion per year in new regulatory costs were imposed on Americans last year, pushing the total burden for the Obama years to exceed $100 billion annually.

    https://taxfoundation.org/us-has-highest-corporate-income-tax-rate-oecd
In today’s globalized world, U.S. corporations are increasingly at a competitive disadvantage. They currently face the highest statutory corporate income tax rate in the world at 39.1 percent. This overall rate is a combination of our 35 percent federal rate and the average rate levied by U.S. states.

Statutory tax rate is irrelevant, EMTR is the true measure. Basic accounting and economics. You did have both these courses, yes?

The economy did not “take off like a rocket”, it has been following trend lines for almost a decade when looking at the stock market, unemployment rate (both U3 and U6), and GDP. I can post graphs if you like and you can indicate where specifically trumps policy did anything besides allow several large corporations to have stock buybacks.

Meanwhile the treasury yield has recently inverted — a recession indicator — and we are still spending like we are trying to exit a recession.
