I had given you a couple of likes on these posts, but then I had to retract them. Per your link, I'm having a hard time seeing this as a DD. Maybe a General Discharge, but not a DD. He should be proud of it as far as I'm concerned. Service members ought to be allowed to exert their political opinions and run for office. UCMJ is unconstitutional in this regard. Being a service member should not equal no longer having the rights of citizenship. And with an all volunteer service struggling to retain and fill essential resources, it might be something to consider.
This is not happening. Waters is very secure against any republican. If she gets taken down its going to be in a primary.
Never happen. The left loves their loony politicians, and they don't come any loonier than Auntie Maxine.
The end of Maxine Waters? Let's hope not. She is among the 5 most entertaining members of congress. It would be like losing AOC or Nancy.
Joining the military causes no loss in constitutional rights. There are certainly some restrictions on activities and a slightly different legal system but the constitutional rights are still there. As an example there is nothing illegal about adultery in the civilian world but it is illegal and prosecutable under the UCMJ.
Well stranger things have happened in Congress but its pretty darn rare. For a serious threat to gain traction in a district like this with someone who has hung around awhile unthreatened, either the district changes its ideological base and the Congressperson doesn't, or the entrenched incumbent drifts far afield and the district does not, or alternately the voters there get pissed about perceived arrogance, scandal or the politician becomes an embarrassing laughingstock. Something has to go very wrong and nobody really notice until some shiny new political talent arrives and shocks a very complacent political establishment .
Waters is an Extreme Liberal Incumbent. The only (recent) successful unseatings in a Dem. Primary revolve around A Liberal Challenger defeating A Moderate Dem. Incumbent. That is why Waters has nothing to fear.
You must not understand how the military works then. You don't lose your constitutional rights but you are governed under the rules and regulations of the UCMJ. I am allowed to vote and support whomever I please, I am not allowed to show that support while in my uniform in public.
In 2018 there was 196,000 votes in Maxies district. So far Collins ad on Youtube has received about 458,648 views • Oct 11, 2020, vastly more than the numbers of votes cast in 2018. I think Joe's gonna start the new year in the 43rd district seat.
Can anyone offer up a single reason that someone from her district would vote for her? Any reason at all, she ignores that district. They have gained NOTHING having her in congress. Makes you wonder where those votes really come from. Ballot harvesting anyone? Vote purchasing? Trade pot for votes perhaps. Yes, all of the above.
If she is a criminal as you maintain, then please tell me in what court of law she was charged and convicted of and her sentence? furthermore if she graduated from a second rate school with a second rate degree as you maintain, do you even have a college degree and what school did you graduate from? Trump University doesn't count as a school.
I can't say I know the first thing about Joe Collins(this is the first I've really heard anything about him, I live in PA), but that is a damn good political ad. Quite possibly the best I've ever seen. If I was on the fence and could vote in that district, I probably wouldn't be on the fence much longer.
This. It baffles me that people would want to repeatedly vote someone like her back in every election, and I'd add 30 other names. Even watching the barrett hearing my first thought was that Congress looks 90 yrs old. New blood please. I dont care what party, just want new blood and hope there are a few that can think and act independently.
