And yet the worst school shooting in the history of the united states was committed with two handguns, each of them equipped with magazines that were limited to ten rounds each. It was the Virginia Tech incident. And in that time not one school shooting has ever come close to that number, even when a rifle was utilized.

Beyond such, nothing changes the simple, undeniable, proven fact, that the most commonly used firearm in the commission of mass shootings is not the AR-15, but rather handguns. Your continual denial, and refusal to accept basic facts, does nothing for the position of yourself.

That is true but AR are used in a very significant number of mass shooting, a fact that even you can't deny.

Please put a ratio and/or percentage on that and back it up with facts. Saying "significant" is very vague. I can truthfully say I've met a significant number of LWers who are liars, cheaters and scumbags, but does that mean a majority of them are or just one? It's vague.

Well Las Vegas and Parkland come immediatly to mind. And Wiki has a list of all mass shootings and type of gun used as well as number of deaths and casualties.

 

That's two. What percentage of mass shootings does that make? Do you know the definition of "mass shooting"? How many "mass shootings" occur in the US? How many involve fatalities or not?

The answer is it depends on who is doing the talking and what their political agenda on guns is all about.

One strict definition used in the past by the federal government says at least four victims must be killed. Much broader criteria requires at least four victims be injured, though not necessarily killed. Other definitions land somewhere in the middle.

A drive-by with a BB gun injuring 4 or more people can qualify as a "mass shooting" if you like.

If you need the percentage you can go to the wiki site and add it all up. And the definition of four people killed is certainly open to question atmleat on so far as the public usage of the term mass shooting is understood.

But the Naval Yard shooting did not, Neither did VT. And in the Colorado theater shooting a shotgun did most of the mayhem.
