Women aren't really that tough to understand when you realize many things they say is deflection and redirection. My boss used to tell us she will never get in trouble with her male boss, because he believed her lies. She only had to cry or shame him and blame things on others which she directed them to do. Those big blue sad eyes and crocodile tears broke his poor wittle hawt. You can see this similar idea right in this thread where women say men can do the heavy work and women can be in charge. They want equality, as long as they can skate by with someone else doing the things they can't. It doesn't work that way for men. They have to do their work and the stuff the women can't do and sucker them into doing. When you don't offer to help them, they tell on you and the boss thinks you are a rotten worker without compassion. Compassion? It's work man. Do the job you got hired to do and quit wearing those tight pants. I remember this one woman who never wore tight pants. She was really hot, but you'd never know. She commanded respect. She didn't trade her dignity for it.
Somebody already made a movie out of this. Chick flick. I did not rent or buy it but I think you can if you want to .
Actually I was teasing you,,,,this is what you wrote Nope. Shows men want that p. You happen to be most likely to offer it and so your man or the man who thinks he has a chance will take the opportunity to up his chances that it will happen soon by helping out.
Another Internalized message boys receive. They should not like chick flicks but it’s OK if girls like dick flicks
Another aspect not mentioned in the original post: The barren condition of most of the females in Atwood's novel is due to the wanton destruction of the environment. Environmental toxicity destroyed the ability of most women in Atwood's story to reproduce, therefore the few remaining fertile women are suddenly a "national security" high value target. Between The Handmaid's Tale and The Hunger Games, the entire agenda of the current crop of the Right is pretty much sewed up. We already watched as nearly every aspect of Paddy Chayefsky's "Network" has become a reality in television news. We have watched as "Idiocracy" went from satire to near documentary. Let's just admit that there have been some who have made eerily prescient portraits and we might do well to heed the warnings. You may feel free to interpret any hyperbole as entertainment but that doesn't change the assertion that it's awfully tough to defend the "it can't happen here" response. If you're old enough, you can see the bigger picture and it becomes impossible to ignore the decline, or the cause behind it. When fascism comes to America, it will wrapped in the flag and carrying a cross.
By "p" I assume you mean the "genitals"...as in "men want the sex". Since you have not read the novel or seen the movie, please know that SEX for PLEASURE in The Handmaid's Tale is punishable by DEATH, particularly if contraceptive methods of any kind are employed, even pulling out or rhythm method. ALL SEX is strictly PERFUNCTORY, performed only by "approved married males" of suitable economic or military stature, or breeding qualities, and is strictly regulated as procreation ONLY. In fact, married couples utilize the handmaids as a PROXY ONLY, with the barren wife holding the handmaid down on the bed while the husband "discharges his biblically approved seed" into the handmaid in a purely dissociated and unemotional manner. Handmaids are not allowed to ever marry because once they have produced an offspring to the barren couple, they are reassigned to another barren couple, where they must produce more offspring. If they fail to conceive too many times, they are either sent to the Colonies (which are former EPA disaster sites) or destroyed.
You're behaving like my kid used to at age seven when I told him bedtime was 8PM. "Oh I guess you're just going to lock me up FOREVER and I'll never get to do ANYTHING!!"
The old one was a two hour movie, and it's not that it wasn't so good, it's that it was heavily condensed out of necessity. As a two hour feature, it was well done...even though the SERIES is definitely much better.
Your side doesn't get to own that anymore, you don't even get to RENT it for the day anymore, not after your HERO has rented porn stars by the gross, two of whom are now willing to tell their story. And like Bubba, he's LYING about it but I bet you five bucks that, UNLIKE Bubba, he will NEVER finally admit to it and apologize. Plus Monica Lewinsky has stated that the affair WAS consensual, and not PAID, and she's not a porn star either.
Do you have Netflix? If so you must watch Alias Grace... It is by the same author and had me on the edge of my chair
It was a side conversation, not part of the book or movie's plot. Sounds like some religion, but that is part of the plot, isn't it? It is also something that women, many of them today who are feminists seem to harp about at times.
I disagree. It can be talked about any time. It's a disgrace. The allegations against Trump are unproven and difficult to believe, since he has been accused of so much. You speak like, if it happened, it wasn't consensual. Sorry, that doesn't fly.
Their barren state would more likely be due to taking the pill and waiting too late in life to have children, due to a desire to fill their need to work and feel like they are a part of the world, rather than having children and raising them. When it becomes time, they have to rely on others to be the mother because they can't. :That seems more likely. I realize Atwood's fantasy world isn't written that way. However, it is a real issue today. I doubt Margaret Atwood had any revelations of what would be, nor are they eerie, but those in the feminist world seem to want to use her fantasies to strike fear into womankind. and find support from mankind. Your post supports my hypothesis.
He's been accused of so much so the accusations are hard to believe???? See: Bill Cosby. See: the pervert who was training women gymnasts...
I like how it was with a Forbes magazine. That's some fantasy and hilarious, but it does show how Dems hate that he is wealthy and continues to make money in spite of them.
Two points; while I agree about the scenario of "barren condition", that was also presented in another SF movie "Children of Men". Good movie: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0206634/?ref_=nm_flmg_act_41 Of course, there are many SF books and movies on overpopulation. One of my favorites is Soylent Green. So your comment that "we might do well to heed the warnings" is wise, but not restricted to infertility. "1984", "Animal Farm" and, as you already mentioned, "The Hunger Games" are all warnings about a society the relies too much on a "benevolent" all powerful government.
What is my "side"? Who is my "HERO"? If you mean Trump, then obviously you are just ranting without foundation since all of the RWNJs here know I think Trump is a ****ing idiot. You? I strongly doubt a person of your demeanor, maturity and acumen will apologize. Maybe you'll surprise me. I know several LWLs on this forum haven't. Same goes for the RWNJs.
Isn't that what men say to women after they've said something offensive and the woman reacted negatively? Same goes for some asshat who tells a race joke then people tell him/her "You're a ****ing idiot".
