Get a clue. I have dined in a lot of restaurants from Cairns to Melbourne that had alcohol. Lots. Many, of course, did not. Your suggestion to the contrary is BS.

We process a LOT of legal and illegal aliens. The illegal ones who are detained are undocumented and do need processing. I am not happy with everything we do with immigration but we do intake around 200,000 per year

Indeed. Bigger than Florida but smaller than Texas :)

Indeed. Somehow I feel your statistics are less than flattering to Australia :)

You certainly do. I remember 2-days long diarrhea after having breakfast of eggs and lambchops somewhere near Adelaide :)

You are indeed correct about Australians having a higher standard-of-living.

Also true for happiness where Australia ranks #10 and the U.S. is #18.

Something you didn't mention which I believe underscores the basic decency of Australians.

Note to Americans... if you can afford to go, by all means visit Australia (and New Zealand). The countries are clean, safe, and there is a lot to see. Rent a car, learn to drive in the wrong side of the road :), in Australia get a SIMM card for your phone at the airport (my November 2018 trip ... $20 for 35 days, unlimited Australia calling, 1000 international minutes, 500 text messages, and 30 GB of data), and enjoy low hotel prices.

Like Canada ... big country, few people, and a treasure of natural resources.
