Fair enough, but science confines itself to the material world, or mental tools (math for example) that help predict material reality.

I think most atheist equate objective reality with material existence. A lack of faith in material existence is most commonly referred to as a psychosis by psychologist. So, I hope you can understand why some people will find your insistence that they are living faith based lives maddening. Because while we can all have subjective views about our material existence, all but the insane believe that we exist in material form.

A religious person by your definition has to carry two faiths, faith in material existence, and then also faith in a particular god and spiritual existence. Atheist only hold one "faith" which in turn allows them to function in the material world.

A partial agreement is better than none at all.

Another word that equates with 'think' is the term "suppose" or 'guess'.

    "psy·cho·sis
    n. pl. psy·cho·ses An acute or chronic mental state marked by loss of contact with reality, disorganized speech and behavior, and often by hallucinations or delusions, seen in certain mental illnesses, such as schizophrenia, and other medical disorders." I believe that the portion of the definition which deals with reality will also refute your claim regarding "A lack of faith in material existence.." Also with making such a positive assertion that you have made, there is the need of proof to show that anyone to whom you are directing that assertion has in fact suffered a "lack of faith in material existence".

That would appear to be a personal problem for them. Not dealing with the reality that others are not always going to agree with what they say.

Are you suggesting that one or more people on this forum are "insane"?

And you have a problem with such beliefs?

So, an Atheist who was perhaps living with his/her spouse for 50 years, never experienced any degree of 'faith' in his/her spouse with regard to his/her 'love' and 'devotion'? Love and devotion are not tangible/physical/material items.
