The name of the beast is 666: euporia (prosperity)

Prosperity or Wealth - that turned out to be the name of the beast. The name, as is known, displays the entity.

In the original Greek, this word is ευπορία. In ancient times, people did not use numbers, when it was necessary to write down a number, the letters of the alphabet were used. Therefore, any word could be "counted" as if it were a number.

The second word, which in the form of the nominative case also has the sum of the meanings of the letters, equal to 666, is in the Greek original of the Gospel of Matthew.

Then came to Jesus scribes and Pharisees, which were of Jerusalem, saying,
Why do thy disciples transgress the tradition of the elders? for they wash not their hands when they eat bread.
(Matthew 15:1,2)

In Greek, the word is written as παράδοσιν, in the form of the nominative case — παράδοσις.

So, what do we see in the 13th chapter of Revelation? The first "beast" comes out of the sea, that is, from the world. This is the common desire of all people for wealth, for personal prosperity. Obviously, this "beast" is a human civilization, and the seven "heads" of this "beast" are the seven world empires that headed this world at different times described in the Bible.

Ancient Egypt, Babylon, Assyria, Median-Persian, Greece, Rome, and more recently, the USA.

And the angel said unto me, Wherefore didst thou marvel? I will tell thee the mystery of the woman, and of the beast that carrieth her, which hath the seven heads and ten horns.
The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is.
And here [is]the mind which hath wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth.
And there are seven kings: five are fallen, and one is, [and]the other is not yet come; and when he cometh, he must continue a short space.
(Revelation 17:7-10)

"five are fallen, and one is" — at the time when the apostle John heard these words, the power of ancient Egypt, Babylon, Assyria, Median-Persian and Greece was already over, Rome ruled the world of those days. The United States emerged quite recently as a world empire, the main force in the modern world.

So, the first beast is the current world civilization based on the sin of Adam, based on the uncontrolled eating of the fruits of the tree of Knowledge stolen from God.

The second beast is a spirit in the Christian religion, which looks like a Lamb (Jesus Christ), but speaks like a dragon (devil), this spirit (false prophet) serves the first beast, supports the power of the first beast, and this spirit makes everyone obey the first beast. The harlot who sits on the first beast is the Christian religion itself, Babylon, the mother of harlots and the abominations of the earth.

And the Antichrist is the "image of the beast".

Religious traditions are no less terrible beast than the desire for prosperity.

If He wanted us to know what it actually means He would have told us.

Nobody will know what's going to happen until we are knee deep in the middle of it and go, "hey, this is what Revelations was talking about".

I always find it amusing when people think they are so smart they can figure out something God is hiding.

It was put together by a Gnostic genius. It's full of disguised insults clever enough to fool and impress the gullible ones who managed to get its acceptance into the canon after previous rejections.

Revelation is a very understandable book, if you seek the answer from God. For this, it is necessary to read the Bible thoughtfully many times, and to fulfill what God has revealed to you, not to follow the crowd.

How does a person differ from a beast? Does man, other than animal instincts, have anything else?

If you subtract from the human God, what's left? Get a beast.

Striving for prosperity, the desire for wealth, the love of religious rites and traditions are animal instincts. And there is no desire for truth, there is no love in it: it is a beast. And today it is the main engine of the human masses, of all human civilization. Look around you.

Well said..... we are amazingly selfish and we are so good at
understanding scriptures in such a way as to benefit SELF.
