That's an intelligent report of reality. But the hysteria they created down here was egregious. The way we were panicked into buying so much extra food, stockpiling gas, buying so much crap to prepare for the BIG ONE. The big one finally came last year, but it hit the west coast. Funny how they told those of us on the east coast, we'd be the ones getting hammered. We still got hit hard, but it was a miss. So many people evacuated for NOTHING, while those who were in true danger got stuck in hell because loads of people leaving never had to. They **** up year after year after year, its hard to take them serious now. They're like monkeys throwing darts at targets, having no clue, yet sounding so self assured. Watching the models that predict EVERYTHING, as if that's science. Its NOT science. Its a line predicting every possible scenario, so that they're never wrong. And they stand their and try to sound smart while they're doing it. You're NOT smart. Those models aren't accurate, because one has to be right when you have 50 lines leading everywhere. How about predicting a few days out? Nope. They can't predict diddly squat.

This is a debate forum. If the extent of your contribution is a sarcastic post containing zero information designed to piss me off, then you are trolling, and I will just ignore you.

There's a huge difference between a verifiable Lie and mere boasting.
Trump is a boaster.Obama was a cavalier manipulator of truth.
Obama did not tell the God's honest truth about anything.

Whatever that jambalaya of nonsense is supposed to prove.
That's half the problem.Al Gore can't elucidate real truth from fiction.
Which explains his huge electric bill to heat and light his mansion
and burn jet fuel all over kingdom come. The guy can't even relate
to his own huge carbon footprint.Yet he runs around lecturing We the
People.I think the word is ...

    Hypocrite

A warming troposphere and cooling stratosphere is smoking gun evidence that convincingly proves that carbon dioxide is causing the Earth to warm. No other theory predicts that behavior. Only AGW provides a satisfactory explanation for this observation.

In meteorological terms "directly sensed" means recorded by physical contact using an electrical resistance thermocouple. However, there are plenty of "remotely sensed" measurements. These include wind vectors, geopotential heights, infrared and microwave emissions, etc. Note that wind speed can be converted to a temperature using the thermal wind equation and geopotential heights can be converted to a temperature using the hypsometric equation. And when Labe says "analyzes" he's specifically talking about the incorporation of nearly 100 million observations in a process called reanalysis to arrive at the temperature. Like most experts his comments are hard to interpret by the layperson. So fault him for that. But, don't get confused into thinking that we don't know the temperature or that there aren't any atmospheric measurements in the Arctic area. It's actually quite the opposite. The fact is that more than a dozen independent groups agree that the temperature at the North Pole climbed above freezing this winter using wildly different techniques and subsets of available data.

Describe the error that was made. How you would fix it. And then how dozens of groups all working independently all made the exact same mistake.

The nice thing about facts is, they remain truthful weather you believe them or not.

It's science. It can only be dumbed down so far, so you deniers are out of luck. At this stage, you're all in the same league as flat-earthers, babbling ridiculous conspiracy theories that are obviously contradicted by the data.

Gore Rule invoked. Anyone who raves about Gore forfeits the thread for their side. Gore isn't a scientist, so nobody cares about him, at least nobody on the rational side.

Those who can talk about facts and science, do. Those who can't, they deflect by crying about whatever political figures their cult has ordered them to demonize.

To add to that, I'll talk about a historical example.

When European diseases in the new world and plague in the old world reduced the global human population, vast areas of farmland went back to being forest and jungle. That reduced atmospheric CO2 levels by about 7 ppm.

That was a global scale reforestation event, and it was only equivalent to about 2 years of our current CO2 emissions.

The error, no actual on the ground measurement of the air temp that day. My solution is to put you on a plane with a mercury thermometer and some mittens. I suppose that given sufficient time, you'd create a more accurate measurement in order to get your flight back arranged...

First, do you honestly think that one measurement from a mercury thermometer is going to somehow overthrow the 100 million other observations taken that day?

Second, do you honestly think you've stumbled upon something scientists didn't already think of? Of course scientists have done that experiment. They do it multiple times per day to always ensure that their reanalysis datasets accurately represent reality.

Third, what's the point? You wouldn't believe the mercury thermometer anyway. Your posts are often focused on how none of our surface observations can be trusted. You'll just claim that I fraudulently manipulated the reading.

Fourth, we actually did have a direct surface temperature measurement in the north pole region (above 80N latitude) that day...2 of them actually. One in Alert, CA and one in Greenland. And guess what...they match the dozen reanalysis datasets available spot on and confirm that the temperature was above freezing. I know...shocking.
