CNBC is reporting Don has decided (if the report is accurate) even he can't appease the base on something as nonsensical as opposing the ban of bump stocks.

Perhaps Wayne La Pierre called and gave him the go ahead.

So, will the minions turn on Don after talking for days about how stupid gun control measures are or will they bow to "Don the Infallible" as he pulls the rug out from underneath them?

Trump directs attorney general to create regulations to ban ‘bump stocks’

    https://www.washingtonpost.com/news...page/breaking-news-bar&utm_term=.b1069131fb4b

President Trump said Tuesday afternoon that he signed a memorandum directing Attorney General Jeff Sessions to craft regulations to ban “bump stocks” and other devices that turn semi-automatic firearms into automatic weapons.

The device was used by the shooter who opened fire on a country music festival in Las Vegas in October, immediately prompting calls for lawmakers to take action and ban such devices. At the time, the White House and the National Rifle Association made clear that they were open to the idea, but no action was taken.

Trump’s announcement comes in the wake of the shooting at a Florida high school last week that left 17 dead, renewing the debate over how to prevent mass shootings.
This is a developing story. It will be updated.

Time to throw Don under the bus for defying the death machine lobby? What does The Following think?

My wife is a retired teacher. She used to say always start the year being strict, set the precedent, then you can be easier on the kids as time goes on.

Maybe Don's strategy in coming out against bump stocks is after acting like a clueless buffoon he's going to start paying attention to the majority and stop being an idiot. As a con man he is smart enough to know when the con is going cold.
