The Perchlorate Conundrum is fascinating. Sure, some bacteria can get along with it but for regular organic life such as "us" and materials "we" need to survive on Mars, the stuff is like a SciFi movie "Acid Wash" Sort of reminds me of the Eden episode form the original Star Trek. So how we gonna life on Mars and survive Percholorate in water, soil, and even the Perchlorate Cycle proposed to capture atmospheric Martian water and redeposit it in salt. Imagine the first people on Mars finding their survival gear dissolving from the influences of Perchlorate. Moi r > g View attachment 38260
Wow! So many water replies and no perchlorate replies. Seems like our Board scientists are molecularly limited.
That's so true. An acid plus a base equals a salt and water. (But that salt is not edible table salt people.)
There just may be too much perchlorate. A whole planet's worth. Where y'gonna get the metal. Perchlorate seems to be part of a cycle with water. Taking out the perchlorate from one area may just witness it seeping back. r > g View attachment 38328 Across an immense, unguarded, ethereal border, Canadians, cool and unsympathetic, regard our America with envious eyes and slowly and surely draw their plans against us.
