It certainly paves the way politically for future presidents...and if it was a Democrat president Republicans in Congress would be silenced...
I have never felt any interest in living anywhere there is a "built skyline". I hike in the mountains to be as far from civilization as possible. If you want to live in a human ant-farm that's your prerogative. Really? You DO realize that no gun control law ever envisioned can prevent someone from sniping attacks, right? Or are you seriously advocating for the banning of your average hunting rifle along with all your other totalitarian policies. Spare me your self-serving nonsense. You're just interested in rationalizing the destruction of civil liberties. You want to know an actual situation that occurred? Me saving my own life because I had a gun and knew how to use it. That's not a "rambo fantasy", bubba; it's simple reality. Guess what? Freedom is dangerous. EVERYTHING in life is a risk. You don't like that? Move to some totalitarian country that'll regulate every aspect of your life for you, and stop trying to destroy American liberty.
Execution works for me. While it may be expensive I understand it has a great impact on the rate of recidivism.
Wrong. My rights are mine and mine alone, and protected not only by the Constitution and the Bill of Rights, but by my willingness to actively defend them; with force if necessary.
I've had a gun pulled on me, and fired at me. Fortunately, I was armed... and a better shot than my assailant. Geez; your ignorance is APPALLING! You DO realize that proper and safe firearms handling requires PRACTICE, right??? Competition shooting and target shooting is how people practice to handle their firearms SAFELY! The less practice, the less skill, and the less safe the shooter becomes! What makes hunting enjoyable is the time outside, the fieldcraft and bushcraft and tracking skills required. The moment of pulling the trigger is a melancholy moment of course... but it means good, healthy meat - FAR healthier than store bought, your nonsensical mewing notwithstanding. Properly prepared, very few meats are as healthy or tasty as elk; though I like antelope a little better.
How many executions would it take to reduce the number of traffic-related fatalities in the united states in a given year? If it is a game of numbers, is it not worth it when the end result is saving lives?
. Were you a teenager in a convenience store late at night, or maybe a 4 year old hit by a stray from a gangfight? Yet, strangely, the shooter who doesn't shoot at all is the safest that can be Yeh right, it takes so much tracking skill to shoot elk with a telescopic sight from a concealed position that most people who have guns themselves and human intelligence cannot escape from snipers in wartime. I'd tell you to eat offal Jeremiah but you'd probably wax poetic about how much better it tastes than good Angus steak that is the end product of human nutritional science just so long as you went through the "melancholy moment" of killing it yourself. Here's hoping the prions really don't hurt as they tunnel little holes through your brain, giving it the name of "spongiform" encephalopathy
If you can't think up any real refutation just don't try. You just make yourself look really stupid with this kind of thing.
But they can be very much lowered and make it less expensive the cost of crime they will create by being let loose. That is unless you consider violent crimes such as rape, assault, armed robbery and murder to be a zero expense to society. Prison should be a he** hole that no one wish's to be in, not a country club with cable TV exercise rooms and 3 meals a day, all for free.
Having a gun has contributed to my being alive to post commentary here. So, has my life long development of skill with knives and the unarmed martial arts. The training and experiences I have have allowed me to develop the skills for measured, heuristic approaches to self defense along with the ability for situational awareness, rapid situational assessment and cognitive ability to handle high stress, adrenaline situations (extending to other contexts as well). That aside, I sometimes hear of people referring to activities as shooting, martial arts, etc. as being motivated by enjoyment. On reflection, I have never thought of these activities in those terms. For me, whether doing long range shooting, game hunting, or any skill enhancement I do, it’s more of a continual, sometimes, self critical, self competition of developing my skills toward an unobtainable self perceived perfection which I will never achieve because I am continually raising my bar. When shooting, if I don’t achieve a single hole from multiple shots I am not happy. In hunting, I have self imposed limitations, 100% confidence in instant kill, that has more than once resulted in passed shots and returning home frustrated and empty handed, not just from my shot decision limitations, but because of my stalking/game inequities at times. Even successful hunts often result in high criticism of myself. I build custom bamboo fly rods, and frequently engage in fly fishing. I am always seeking perfection in my casting technique, and how my builds enhance or detract from that. Then enjoy fishing? Every excursion is an analytical activity, analyzing my skill, my builds, or my ability to seek my game by understanding its nature in every condition. When I have good days and everything works, I find myself bored, looking to increase the challenge, to increase my skill. There is no profit for me in competing with others, because my opponent is always me and even in winning, I know someone is better. No matter how good I am, I will never be good enough. The proposition for me has always been work on improving my skills beyond me. Is that enjoyable? Not how I class it. I suspect those that have high skill levels would understand.
South Bay correctional, privately run and costing the state 70% less then say Raiford.aka. Union Correctional Institution.
Once again you are incorrect and have totally failed to research the actual costs of properly running a prison. I can say for a fact, you seem to enjoy being incorrect and ignoring facts, that do not fit your narrative. End of conversation. Bye, bye.
