Sorry, I should have said no one knows who wrote most of the books in the Bible.

Historicity is more than just authorship.

Aren't you in control of your wants, needs, will, power, non-power, and desires?

When did I speak of "proof?" @tecoyah asked for "EVIDENCE!"

Sure, I know that the writings exist, but you why aren't you capable of stating one?

Have you looked into the evidence for God?

I spent my first five years of school doing so and that was the reason I became Atheist.

Primarily to mess with you and add a bit of entertainment to this silly comedy show of a debate. They are the only real thing being discussed and were used to drive that point home, though perhaps it was a bit out of place and inappropriate in context.

I'm in such a conundrum. After re-reading @Kokomojojo 's posts, I have decided I no longer believe in the religion of Atheism. The problem it that I still don't believe in the religion of theism. So what religion am I?

You, my fiend have reached the impass many are faced with. This is where the FSM and his soft noodely appendages embrace you in the hot moist love of pastacentranism. In this way you dwell in the benefit of both in that you can "Know" the imagined bliss while expressing devotion to something far above your confused and fragile existence.

I will now provide to you one of our great songs of glorification that you may please the great FLYING SPIGHETTI MONSTER and be saved.

There you have it! You see god as a flawed human with human desires and needs!!! LOL!!!!!!!!

You seem to lack basic spirituality and your comments suggest you refuse to think about the bible from a standpoint of common reason, let alone spirituality. It's shocking that you can't grasp the simple logic I put forward about all-powerful purity and conflict with it.

Because the days when I read fairy tales are long behind me and since you and almost anyone who had a childhood knows they exist I don't see any reason to waste my time responding to meaningless challenges.

A distinction without a difference when someone is ignorant enough to claim the bible proves or is evidence of the existance of god.

Does that mean that if a person is an atheist, he is out there, pounding the pavement, mashing the keyboard, driving to promote atheism?

What does the question have to do with my post? If you don't believe in god and you don't believe in no god than you believe in " i don't give a damn"

Well, I was just wondering whether some may believe that an atheist is a person who actively promotes his views. If a person doesn't give a damn, isn't that an agnostic?

Every time an Atheist posts here it is in reply to a Christian...usually debasing Atheism or making claims of the impossible.

    sounds like agnostianity to me.
    Yep more agnostianity
    and yet more agnostianity
and that could not get much farther from the truth than infinity
    Some may!
For other topics, see Atheism, Antireligion, Antitheism, State atheism, and New Atheism. League of Militant Atheists
    Union of Soviet Socialist Republics
The League of Militant Atheists[1] (Russian: Союз воинствующих безбожников Soyuz voinstvuyushchikh bezbozhnikov, literally League of the Militant Godless - LMG[2]); Society of the Godless (Общество безбожников Obshchestvo bezbozhnikov); Union of the Godless (Союз безбожников Soyuz bezbozhnikov), was an atheistic and antireligious organization of workers and intelligentsia that developed in Soviet Russia under the influence of the ideological and cultural views and policies of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union from 1925 to 1947.[3] It consisted of party members, members of the Komsomol youth movement, those without specific political affiliation, workers and military veterans.[4]

The league was a "nominally independent organization established by the Communist Party to promote atheism".[9] It published newspapers, journals, and other materials that lampooned religion; it sponsored lectures and films; it organized demonstrations and parades; it set up antireligious museums; and it led a concerted effort telling Soviet citizens that religious beliefs and practices were wrong and harmful, and that good citizens ought to embrace a scientific, atheistic worldview.[10]

Guided by Bolshevik principles of communist propaganda and by the Party's orders with regards to religion, the League aimed at exterminating religion in all its manifestations and forming an anti-religious scientific mindset among the workers.[5][6] It propagated atheism and scientific achievements,[7] conducted "individual work" (a method of sending atheist tutors to meet with individual believers to convince them that gods do not exist); most of the peasantry was unimpressed, and even the party apparatus regarded the League as meddling and inefficient.

sounds hauntingly familiar, commies disguised in logic and reason clothing

Not having an opinion or caring about the existance or non existance of god is agnostianity. Care to tell me how not having an opinion meets your definition of a religion. Does not caring about unicorns constitute a religion? Does not caring about religion constitute a religion?

please point out which neo-atheist that is posting here that do not care.
I do not have an opinion, I neither believe nor disbelieve either side, I abstain from a vote, I am agnostic, I do not care about either atheist or theist religions, only agnostic, which is my religion.
btw whats the point of your posting a response that has nothing to do with my point, the commie propaganda and the constant assault of neoatheists out here proselytizing atheism

You don't think "evidence" and "proof" are different? Surely you can't be serious.
