While I don't want to change lifetime appointments, this ^^^^^^ gives a great deal of power to the justice's clerk who is writing the opinions and maybe influencing the vote.

    Cheers

    Will require a Republican majority.

This tax break for the 2 percent of richest of the rich isn't going to help them retain the slim
    majority they have now.

And Trump will have a year to make things even worse then they are now.

This is a fact. When Democrats became the party of:

    • LBGT
    • Muslims over Americans
    • Anti-Job / Pro Welfare State
    • Globalists over American Interests
    • Over the top Environmentalism killing jobs and stealing private citizen's rights
    • Big Government over Personal Freedoms

They lost a ton of people that went Independent and even Republican.

Some justices replaced with Constitutional justices would be great for America.

Republicans do have a majority and will retain a majority (is 4 special elections any indication). And all as one, will vote for the conservative SCOTUS judge. Do not doubt me.

It would be awesome to replace Kennedy, Breyer, and Ginsburg with some judges that actually honor the U.S. Constitution.

It's too bad we have hacks like Kagan and Sotomayor on the bench, but if we are down to just those two with Roberts being a flake, it's all good.

Having people who have functioned in the real world outside guarded judge's chambers and the halls of academia would be the best thing. I really don't care about Roe v. Wade or most of the red herrings. I would like to see a Justice who has some real experience in the world of high technology or something who can better understand many of the issues from an insider perspective. Relying on the Court to ask the right questions of lawyers who represent the people who know crap isn't the same as knowing crap.

That's the legislatures job. I want judges to apply the law as written.

There's an old maxim, "if you want to rid the country of a bad law, rigorously enforce it." The people will bitch and the legislature will act.

When the judiciary tweaks law or finds common ground in interpretation it might soften impact but it take the onus for change off the legislature. Roe v Wade is the perfect example. Had the court not ruled as they did it would have forced the legislature to act.

    Cheers

Justice Thomas might not talk much but his opinions are well articulated and reasoned. I'm an opinion reading junky, Thomas is no dolt.

Thomas has been a steadfast conservative voice, and if he does decide to retire, he will be replace with another solid conservative. Preferably a very young one.

Its a pleasure to read his opinions. I used to enjoy reading his and Scalias. This was a relatively quiet session, but there is a sea change coming.

It isn't just the legislatures' jobs though. The Constitution specifically grants the SCOTUS jurisdiction in all cases in law and equity arising under it. Equity is where understanding reality is of upmost importance.

Agreed on equity. But seriously that's something that needs to be sent back to trial court. Which happens.

Relative to the CONSTITUTIONALITY of said duly adjudicated law. PERIOD.

Not "just because they don't like it, or do like it."
