EU moves in Kiev resulted in pushback from Moscow, and now all is alarm at Russian aggression. More than anything, the West's self-righteous posing undermines its traditional stance on the first cold war. http://www.democracynow.org/2014/4/17/we_are_not_beginning_a_new
Why doesn't the Russians move their troops from the Ukraine border - Or is there concern the Ukraine might invade Russia with EU assistance?
Both the EU and Russia are trying to woo Ukraine to their side. Why should Russia get Ukraine without a fight?
This isn't the start of a new Cold War -- Russia just isn't enough of a military threat to rate that kind of respect. Helping Russia's neighbors avoid being invaded/annexed by Russia isn't aggression. Absorbing parts of your neighbors, as Russia did in Crimea, is naked aggression. Russia can throw its weight around in its immediate neighborhood. Beyond that, it's irrelevant militarily.
Do you think that this would inspire Americans to be more interested in a G. O. P. candidate? 29% of my poll want Mitt Romney to run again, 27% prefer other candidate. http://www.politicalforum.com/opini...itt-romney-should-consider-running-again.html Should Mitt Romney run again?Voters 44. You have already voted on this poll Yes... I like to see persistence in a politician. 13………………….29.55% No.... once was enough! 19…………………………………………..43.18% Yes...and a Utah State currency sounds like a good idea. 3……..6.82% No..... I prefer another candidate! 12………………………………..27.27%
Unfortunately, this looks very much so. I hope older generation of conservative white men will die and younger generation will turn in the right direction: cooperation, trade and cultural exchange with Russia.
This is aggression, because Russia has no aggressive intentions. I do not understand why some people are posting lies in this forum. Ignorance or deliberate actions to mislead us?
Well, the U.S. administration throws money around (under the premise to help develop democratic institutions, here $5 billion as admitted by Victoria Nuland) to destabilize nations and undermine democratic institutions and governments which came to be by due democratic process, and the whole hypocrisy in long term won't be lost on the world. At the current rate the free nations will gravitate away from the U.S. and then Washington will content with maintaining presence abroad only where it pumps megabucks into puppet regimes or through military interventions. This will push Russia and China towards tighter military cooperation and perhaps a pact to challenge the U.S. interests, which may then be extended to include other willing members.
Bravo arbus Like plus Reputation Tag So true. So true. Russia should start creating a presence in Bolivia and Venezuela and any other nation that invites them. Let's see how takes it when Russia moves back to the Western Hemisphere. Then, Russia would have bargaining power of agreed spheres of influence. Moi No
It is because of Russias aggressive actions that leads people to believe he has aggressive intentions.
Odd, your selected article doesn't support your title or any of your assertions. And what logic leads you to believe the EUs moves to establish mutually agreed to relations with Ukraine, justify Putin annexing a portion of Ukraine?
Not Dixon here. Sure I favor Democracy in America. Not the current Plutocratic system. Elsewhere is their business. President John Adam's I think, when asked by the Greeks for help becoming free of the Ottomans wrote to the effect that role is to be a beacon of Democracy, without any other involvement in foreigners affairs. RiseAgainst, should be more than a beacon of Democracy such as being a military implementer(?) contrary to Mr. Adams' advice. It hasn't worked y'know. Being more than a beacon. Or rarely worked and at what costs? Besides, this is NOT about Democracy or FREEDOM. This is about whose markets are regions in contention to become. Watch West Ukraine become the next Greece. What I was trying to tell Dixon is that he should support the annexation of Crimea for the simply reason that America is supposed to stand for the promotion of democracy. The people of Crimea spoke and they are Russian.
A hastily organised in 5 days vote under armed invasion and rebellion where most of the citizens didnt participate isnt democracy. Especially with Russias long history of ethnic cleansing in the Crimea.
Your selected article STILL doesn't support your title or any of your assertions. And an election organized in 5 days, under armed invasion and rebellion, where most of the people didnt participate, isnt democracy. And you didnt answer the question you chose to respond to.
