Along the coast from Raymondo we had a couple of heavy showers pass though, the first with some hail. I made the mistake of popping across town in between them on the moto, in jeans and summer gloves. It's definitely winter draws on time!
Hail is something that we don't get very much of here in Jackson. BTW, have I raised your hand yet. LOL
It is supposed to be 22 tonight and will be 50 tomorrow. We are also still suffering from high winds.
"A big storm front continues to threaten the WA coastline - although it hasn't yet lived up to meteorologist predictions that its impact could be similar to the massive hail storm that caused a $650 million damage bill in March 2010." http://www.watoday.com.au/wa-news/severe-thunderstorm-continues-to--threaten-wa-20111206-1ogi7.html "SEVERE thunderstorms have dumped heavy rain across the southern half of WA, including Perth and the Wheatbelt and blacked out thousands of homes." http://www.perthnow.com.au/news/western-australia/storm-warning-for-mid-west-including-perth-and-the-wheatbelt/story-e6frg13u-1226214432595
Boy I really like to watch lightning on that rare occasion that we have a good thiunderstorm here in Jackson. This morning it is 11 below and falling here in Jackson. I now have my cars block heater always plugged in when it is not running.
Jammy b. Baltic. Below zero. Snowing again. Not as much as yesterday though. It went off for a bit this morning and made it in to work and got to the fitness class. Now it's closing in and my friend said snow is forecast for the next 9 days.
Why nothing at all. That nice "little" girl is just telling me what she wants for christmas. That's all * hides face to keep from laughing*
Lucky you. The snowgates are closed on several highland roads already and the Met Office has issued a red warning for central Scotland for gale force wind with possibility of structural damage bla bla bla But it changes with the wind (punny). Earlier they were forecasting heavy snow. Now its heavy wind
The BEEB seem to be quite upset about it! The blizzards should be along Thurs/Fri, Viv! http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-16065842
World Centre -- Brighton SE England . Very concerned that my writing here is reflecting my age and entering true middle years .Do others agree that we should make it clear where we are writing from ? Flags can help if you know US State ones . But sometimes people write and you think , Where are they ? Weather here today is Wet and Windy and I am envious of the Californian poster who quoted plus 50 day time high . Slight exaggeration or is he in the middle of the desert ?
Ach people are settling into it now, they're not easily phased as you know. The whole city centre was sent home due to the River Clyde threatening to burst its banks. I was already en route, having done what I planned to do at work and then made my own decision on it. The gales are tremendous and there's overturned vehicles everywhere. However, the humour is the reason you live in Scotland and don't care about the crap weather or any of the other minor irritations. The wit of the people is sharp as a tack. Don't really care if some view it crude. It's a constant riot living here, everbody's a comedian ...particularly note the last one there...
Incredibly, we have just the first snow fell and melted away in the evening ... The temperature at zero degrees Celsius, wind west. We usually have at this time the snow knee-deep and have a cold -10 -15 degrees Celsius.
We're supposed to have ice tomorrow and possible snow. What is possible snow? Snow that comes down but changes its mind and goes back? I've just been out and it's calmed down a bit. The main roads are open, there is sleet and some flooding but the wind has lowered. This is the town's big huge Christmas tree, post Hurricane Bawbag. The switch on of the lights was already delayed by last week's floods too... I'm past caring.
