The White Cliffs of Dover Chalk Formation

The White Cliffs of Dover in Chalk Formation, what a beautiful view that is.

The white color comes from the chalk from which the cliffs are made. More than 100 million years ago, the area that is now the south of England was covered by a warm sea.

Microscopic plankton lived in the upper levels of this sea, and when they died their bodies sank to the seabed. Over time it built into a thick layer, and the weight of water pressing down on the seabed turned the shell-rich mud into the soft rock known as chalk.
Ice Age Large glaciers cut through the rolling chalk hills about 20 million years ago.

The land mass of Great Britain was separated from the rest of Europe when the Ice Age ended around 10,000 years ago, it turned Great Britain into an island and left the cliffs exposed to wind, weather and tidal erosion.

Cultural History The cliffs have been an important icon for the British people, perhaps most notably during World War II when the song “The White Cliffs of Dover” became immensely popular.

The song, sung by Vera Lynn, looked forward to a time when the war would be over and people could resume their peacetime lives. Asked by the London “Independent” in 1999 whether she ever got tired of singing it, Vera Lynn answered, “No … It meant so much to everyone. The white cliffs of Dover were the last thing the boys saw as they were leaving (for war). The song meant home to them.”

This thread made me reflect on something I've read before, possibly due to mention of high altitudes and steep drops and how tragically it sometimes all ends. Long live Denys Finch Hutton and his poetry! Honestly, it was the only English poet I've known, although there was another one whose name sounded something like shake and bake.

You are partially correct. They didn't form from the noah flood. God just made it, after the flood.

No. God made them after the flood. The softness of chalk would have been wiped away by the flood.
Your website doesn't know what it is talking about.

    Oh! Wow!

Here we have it - the ultimate authority

"Sum bloke on da internetz sed so"

Who ever wrote that waste of bandwidth not only does not believe in evolution but also does not believe in mathematics

But why make God smaller? Why not allow him/her/it/xu to be as large as the universe and as old at time?

These cliffs are the result of the Delfinian articulation of Terra11 over a period lasting from 21763 to 21777 Galactic standard time. The incorporation of liquid into the Zarbanian tactile foam needed to terraform an island for Relitile use solidified on contact and allowed for further use of Terran resources.

And here I was thinking it might have been the work of Slartibartfast and the Magratheans when they built earth under the direction of Deep Thought as a giant computer to answer the ultimate question of life the universe and everything

The flood carried them there or killed them there by a rapid change in temperature or other natural means.

You have to show why he's wrong for me to not believe in it. As far as I know its a valid argument. Show me why it's not.

No. Else that would be stated in the bible.
Everything after the flood, if we are talking a 6000 yr old earth, is the way it is because made it that way at that time. No natural forces at work, just the work of God. I thought you are a devout YEC?

The link doesn't provide scientific evidence of its claims.

It demonstrates the fallacy of "motivated reasoning" - the reasoning that starts by making assumptions not in evidence (such as a 6,000 year old earth and a world wide Noah flood) and then driving all decisions to justify those assumptions.

Since neither of these assumptions is itself driven by evidence, it's absolutely ridiculous to believe that an idea depending on BOTH (and in a highly specific way at that) could possibly be true - requiring hand waves about volcanoes, denial of glacier time scales (which are known to have divided England from the mainland about 500,000 years ago - not within the 6,000 fundamental assumption required by the motivated reasoning of the young earth quacks), etc.

Plus, science requires verification and review - which this idea has NOT received.

Just because it is on the net does not make it true

    https://www.uwgb.edu/dutchs/PSEUDOSC/SciPseudosci.htm

Everyone here is showing you the logical fallacies inherent in this "theory"

If there was the temperature change you are claiming - how did Noah survive??

But if you want to believe everything on the net - be my guest

If there was no natural forces then there wouldn't be a flood to begin with. God could've just turned everybody except Noah into dust. God used natural forces to bring judgment. The Bible doesn't go into every detail of how the flood affected the world.

Sea creatures, especially fish and other non mammals are more sensitive to temperature than humans and mammals are. You can have hot water from the sink and poor in a fish tank and kill a lot of the fish. Plus it wasn't like that everywhere in the world.
