This is nothing short of incredible, unbelievable, and stupefying! t

First of all there is this from Trump in the July 25th phone call to Zelensky, the Ukrainian president.

"There's a lot of talk about Biden's son, that Biden stopped the prosecution and a lot of people want to find out about that so whatever you can do with the Attorney General would be great. Biden went around bragging that he stopped the prosecution so if you can look into it... It sounds horrible to me."

It's right there. In the transcript the White House released.

All of which makes this next fact absolutely mystifying and terrifying: In a new national Monmouth University poll just four in 10 self-identified Republicans believe that Trump mentioned Biden in his call with Zelensky.

Then on Thursday, Trump confirmed to a national television audience that he asked Zelensky for help in his political campaign. Trump confirmed that he asked a foreign power to intervene in our Presidential election on his behalf, and then he doubled down, adding another foreign power to his quest for a second term, China.

On Thursday, on the White House South Lawn Trump was asked specifically what he wanted Zelensky to do, and he responded:

"Well I would think that if they were honest about it they'd start a major investigation into the Bidens. It's a very simple answer. They should investigate the Bidens because how does a company that's newly formed -- and all these companies if you look at, and by the way likewise, China -- should start an investigation into the Bidens."

60% of Republicans were totally unaware of this!

It is as if Trump Republicans, differentiating from real Republicans such as myself, are avoiding Trump. They listen only to Trump propaganda on Fox and related Trump soapboxes who will never mention Trump and the Bidens in the same sentence. They don't care to listen to legitimate national news because the programs are likely to involve Trump and describe realities in Washington. They don't want to hear it!

If Trump Republicans somehow get wind of something nasty about Trump, they claim it is false news regardless of the legitimacy of the report. They simply shut their ears.

This may have something to do with intellectual capabilities and educational levels. We know that Trump's support comes from rural areas and states with small populations where opportunities for intellectual achievement are somewhat limited.

We also know that urban and suburban areas with a wide variety of schools and universities largely vote Democratic.

Why 60% of Trump Republicans are unaware of Trump's interaction with the Bidens is a mystery, and I don't claim to have the answer.

    This isn't about Hillary.

It isn't about Bill, either. BTW, he was impeached.

    And it isn't about Obama.

All those people are past tense. They are no longer in positions of power. All three went into retirement years ago, and they no longer matter. This thread is a ridiculous diversion because Trump does matter. He is our current President and he is in a heap of trouble.

This is sheer desperation by Trumpets because they are incapable of defending Trump on threads that deal with the impeachment inquiry. So, Trumpets avoid those threads. They will discuss anyone not named Trump.

Like Hillary, Bill, and Barack. This is really quite funny.

The President requesting intervention of a foreign power in our Presidential election for his benefit and using extortion is a very serious matter.

    That isn't funny.

House investigators released numerous text messages late Thursday night. The texts, which former special U.S. envoy to Ukraine Kurt Volker provided investigators during a nearly 10-hour deposition Thursday, reveal that officials felt Trump had placed conditions on Ukraine receiving the military aid that Trump had withheld days before the July 25 phone call. The military aid is needed by Ukraine to fight off Russian aggression, which may explain why Trump withheld it.

At first the condition was meeting with Trump in Washington. “heard from White House — assuming President Z convinces trump he will investigate / ‘get to the bottom of what happened’ in 2016, we will nail down date for visit to Washington,” Volker texted Zelensky’s aide, Andrey Yermak, on July 25, hours before Trump and the Ukrainian president spoke on the phone.

But Trump never committed to a meeting, and it became clear the White House was issuing an escalating series of demands.

Are we now saying that security assistance and WH meeting are conditioned on investigations?” U.S. Charges D’affaires in Ukraine William B. “Bill” Taylor texted to Sondland on Sept. 1. Sondland swiftly moved the conversation from text messages to a phone call.

Gordon D. Sondland is the United States Ambassador to the European Union. He is Trump political appointee, having contributed heavily to the Trump campaign. It was his job to protect the President.

“As I said on the phone, I think it’s crazy to withhold security assistance for help with a political campaign,” Taylor later texted Sondland on Sept. 9, complaining that the Trump administration’s decision to withhold congressionally approved military aid to Ukraine had already created a “nightmare scenario.”

“The president has been crystal clear no quid pro quo’s of any kind,” Sondland replied. “The president is trying to evaluate whether Ukraine is truly going to adopt the transparency and reforms that president zelensky promised during his campaign I suggest we stop the back and forth by text.”

On Friday, Republican Sen. Ron Johnson (Wisc.) told the Wall Street Journal that Sondland had told him in late August that the Trump administration’s offer of aid to Ukraine was tied to the country’s willingness to try and dig up dirt on Democratic candidate Joe Biden’s son, Hunter Biden.

How many times must you be corrected? He was impeached for lying over said action, under oath. Now you are educated, you are welcome.

When I saw the tittle of this thread, "The zenith of hypocrisy", I thought it would be about the two "lies" from Warren that shocked you righties. Donald Trump does many times that before breakfast.

    • No.. They aren't criminals even though Judicial Watch has been trying to nail them for 30 years.
The Clinton Foundation is a Public Operational Charity with the same percentage of overhead spending as the American Red Cross. The morons who write about "scandal" are too stupid and biased to look into how different charities are structured.

Trump's charity was PRIVATE and avoided accountability.. You can't do that with a Public Charity.

Trump agrees to shut down his charity amid allegations ...

Dec 18, 2018 · President Trump has agreed to shut down his embattled personal charity and to give away its remaining money amid allegations that he used the foundation

I have no problem with Clinton being investigated or jailed. But even if every charge against he is true, it would not forgive a single charge against Trump. Trump FanBoys don’t seem to understand that if one person robs a bank and gets away with it, that doesn’t mean the next bank robber gets a free ride.

And if Hillary has been elected, the Republicans that controlled the House would probably have impeached her.

Welcome to the world of winning the Presidency. Watergate. Whitewater. Iran-Contra. WMDs. Benghazi. Investigation comes with the office and if Trump is such a snowflake that he can’t handle it like all the other Presidents have, then he should go home.

It's not that Trumpers don't know of these things, they don't CARE, and their unconcern is so total that it actually affects their view of reality, they simply dismiss anything that disagrees.

And the reason they do this is blindingly obvious to anyone who has ever talked to a Trumper. These people are HATERS, first and foremost, bigots against just about EVERYONE but your staunchest WASPs and not liking even lots of them. They are racists who also believe that struggle and conflict are humanity's first and only real laws and that therefore one race, the Master Race, will eventually kill all the rest. (If you find that familiar you have studied history much better than most of them.)

Mind, they seldom codify their beliefs this clearly but it shows through in everything they do, every statement they make, and particularly and most clearly in their fanatical support of the Hater-In-Chief

Paula Jones’s story was, and is, catnip for conservatives: She has consistently claimed that in 1991, when she was a 24-year-old state employee making $6.35 an hour, Bill Clinton, then Arkansas’s...
