It is true that all humans are the same biologically. There are no sub species of homo sapiens. But there are groups of humans that share common appearance and those appearances are obvious to everyone. That it becomes of problem is nothing but a social construct because it can't arise from anything else. Humans prefer to be around those that are similar to themselves. It is natural. We just need to have tolerance of other groups to avoid racism.

Take a page from the Japanese. They are virulently racist but tolerant so those that are the subject of the racism aren't even aware of it. The Japanese handle their racism masterfully. Even though they are more racist than we are, nobody considers them so. They view us as more racist because of our behavior.

 

RACE is just a word. COLOR is just a word. We identify common characteristics with words. But when you don't like what the words means, erasing the word doesn't change a damn thing.
When red birds change color and become orange birds- then you can change their name. But flying fish are still fish; not swimming birds.

We already see the "intellectual" set trying to make guilt a bad word so criminals won't be seen as poor citizens- and thinking that's the same as improving society. If the mentality behind this crap wasn't so destructive to a civilized society, it would be crude comedy- but it's distortion for the sake of distortion. So you can claim all reality is debunked by delusions, but that is- your delusion.

 

Race exists it is a social construct. Denying that because there's no real biological classification based on race is naive.

One could say there are no such thing as species it's just some classification we made up and it is I would say that's true about the entirety of human language human languages making up classifications.

To pretend that that means it's not real is to deny all education up until this point.

 

You probably also don't believe that an anthropologist can determine the sex of a skeleton.

a.k.a. "segregate people into arbitrary groups". Why we do this with people for things like "skin color" or "national origin" (including nationals vs non-nationals) is the problem.

Point is that the divisions are arbitrary, and not based on anything tangilble. Not on genetics, not on any other biological trait, not on anthropological characteristics, ... nothing other than the desire to segregate people.

I don't now what your point is. But if you're trying to imply that divisions are trivial, think again. The arbitrary division into "races" has produced slavery, it has produced a set of laws for this group and a different for that group in the Jim Crow era, and today, it ensures institutional privileges for the dominant ethnic group: American white Christian males. And, as you can see by some of the posts in this forum, there are those who would like to keep it that way. And they feel threatened if the concept of "race" goes away. If you're not in this group, good for you. But read some of the posts by your colleagues in the right, and see if you can spot the fear of losing the concept of "race". Not the word.... the concept.
