Trump is begging to be impeached.

If we had had confidence that the president clearly did not commit a crime, we would have said so.
Mueller said that on a Wednesday.

On Thursday morning, Trump raged, providing an incoherent rant during which he called an American destroyer a "boat" and said that the courts would not allow impeachment. Nearly every sentence was a lie. https://www.cnn.com/2019/05/30/politics/trump-russia-election-interference-help/index.html

On Thursday night, Trump, as is his custom, decided to change the subject. To divert attention away from a damaging controversy, he created a more damaging controversy.

Before explaining, some background of previous events.

    Sandy Shanks said:
The Dow Jones Industrial Average posted its fifth consecutive weekly decline, its longest since 2011.

The Dow is down 1,000 points since Trump announced his 25% tariff on Chinese goods and threatened a 25% tariff on another 325 billion more.

    Sandy Shanks said:
"We're not ready to make a deal," Trump said, referring to the trade war he started with China.

    The Dow lost 238 points.

    Sandy Shanks said:
The Dow is down another 260 points today.

    Sandy Shanks said:
The Dow is down about 1500 points since that fateful tweet, announcing his tariffs on Chinese goods. Millions of Americans have lost millions of dollars in retirement savings. Farmers are being seriously hurt, and Trump wants to bail them out with another $16B on top of the $12B they have already received. Huge retailers like Walmart and Costco are raising prices because of the tariffs.

Market analysts are concerned about inflation. Inflation causes less demand, causing less employment, which causes recession.

    Sandy Shanks said:
"Mr. President, you are doing a terrific job," Vladimir Putin, Russian president.

So, what does Trump do? On Thursday he threatened more tariffs, of course, this time on Mexico. He threatened to punish Mexico with tariffs until it restrains the flow of migrants across the southwestern border.

Only Trump can explain the relationship between our immigration woes and tariffs/trade.

Come to think of it, no, I don't think he can. He just wanted to change the subject, and, in doing so, threatened his signature trade deal, the USMCA.

The Dow lost another 355 points. Americans lost more of their retirement savings while paying higher prices at the market while bailing out farmers again to the tune of $16B on top of the $12B they have already received.

Some Trump Republicans have made the obligatory criticism of Trump's incredibly ill fated announcement but they will do nothing to rein in the out-of-control President.

Putting this in perspective, currently, there are about 100,000 to 105,000 impoverished people making illegal border crossings a month. Most Americans could care less. Illegal immigration ranks ninth in the concerns Americans have, mostly Trump fans, I wager. It is a hot button issue for them.

To solve this problem our President wants to penalize 327 million people living in the U.S. and another 130 million people living in Mexico along with every auto manufacturer and every major retail outfit like Walmart and Costco.

Only a President yearning for impeachment would do the things Trump has done in a single week.

That would be the worst mistake Democrats could make. The idea is to remove Trump from the White House. As matters stand now, the Trump Republican held Senate will vindicate him, not remove him.

If Democrats need more motivation to avoid a failed attempt to remove Trump, picture Trump as a martyr, a sympathetic victim of Democratic overreach, and add another four years to Trump's longevity in the Oval Office.

On the first trading day of 2018 (Jan. 2) the S&P 500 opened at 2,674, Shanks.

Last Friday (5/31/2019) the 500 closed at 2,752.

    That's a paltry 2.92% increase. One could've made that in a no-risk CD.

So, over the last 17 MONTHS, stocks have basically gone NOWHERE.

And as I check the monitor, S&P futures are currently down another 15 points.

The reckless republican MORON considers the stock market his 'report card'.

    Well, Donnie … you're FAILING...

17 companies assembling cars in the USA has seen tens of billions trimmed from their stock values since Dirty Donald began his Tariffs attacks.

We are already being penalized every day with these trade imbalances.

The only problem is that you folks have gotten so you used to them you now consider them normal.

Once they are corrected you will be living in a nation doing so well that you will wonder why you kept yourselves in chains for so long.

And you will have Trump to thank for your economic freedom.

Because of Trump's tariffs, it is only going to get worse. Until Republicans in Congress rein him in -- taxes and tariffs are the responsibility of Congress -- Americans will lose more of their savings while paying more at the markets. Farmers are hurting far more.

It is only a matter of time before inflationary forces cause a recession all due to our President.

But the GOP, the free trade party, has done nothing other than issue its obligatory meaningless rhetoric.

Congress can delegate their power to whomever they want and they gave these to the president.

Sure they could take them back but at this point it would be pointless to.

I mean they let the president take over this for a reason and those reasons haven't changed...….Trump will be gone in 6 years or so at the most and democrats will probably have their guy in there so why would they want him not to be able to reverse things they don't like?

Basically stopping Trump now would be shooting themselves in the foot.

How so? Explain that or is that something you read from the Donald J. Trump website? It would not be explained there, either. Like you, Trump just says it and hopes his gullible base believes it. Hell, they believe anything if it is from Trump.

I guess you enjoy losing money from your savings.

We already are, or were! We have the largest economy in the world, seven trillion dollars more that our nearest competitor, China. Prior to Trump's ill-fated tweet on May 5, we have had a ten-year bear market, the longest in history. We have full employment.

Trump is doing whatever he can to damage our great economy. Want proof? Review the OP. Isn't it time you re-examined your priorities? Why do you support Trump? Why do you support a President who is seriously threatening our economy? Explain that to me. Is it by creating fantasies like:

I just love it when Trump's supporters prove my case for me. Read the thread title. So far, you are the only Trump supporter to respond, proving my point as expressed in the title.

I have no idea why Trump's fans support him. It is patently obvious they don't know, either. Like you, when they defend him, they offer fantasies and sheer ignorance.

When we send goods to a nation for trade and have to pay them a price to accept it yet they send goods to us to trade and we don't charge them it raises our prices and makes theirs cheaper.

That is a trade imbalance and hurts us.

There are many, many examples of this from all over and it is wrong.

It should be far larger than it is but it is being hampered by the trade imbalance which Trump will fix.

Once he does it will lead to an even stronger economy with more jobs, cheaper prices, and more money in people's pockets.

So in the short term we will take some hits but that's what happens when you stand up to bullies...in the end though you will be able to keep your lunch money because you did stand up even though you got punched for it.

Here is someone smarter than you about Mueller.

Also, do you wish to wait for a recession to fix the tariff issues or the disaster on the border? It appears so.

Free trade is the ideal. We don't have free trade in our world and playing free trade alone is a disaster. Free trade requires both sides of a trading partnership to practice free trade. It hasn't happened in my lifetime.

Let me see if I understand what you're attempting to feed us, Sandy.

You want us to believe the billions of dollars American investors in the stock market made the first two years of Trump's presidency were not due to his actions... but the minute the market takes a dive, its all Trumps fault?

Any idea how ignorant that sounds?

Nearly as dumb as claiming Trump is destroying our economy when the majority of Americans are doing better than they have in decades!

Its not that we ignore your silly rants, dear. The only one who seems to get your message is you.... and of course the other haters always eager to get in on a cheap shot.

Ever thought of getting a hobby?

What we are looking at with some posters is a cry for attention. Any topic from immigration, to financial, to the clothing on Trump's wife while boarding a plane is ammunition to start bashing the president.
I have decided with many on the alt-left, it has little to do with Trump and all about self importance.
When asked over three dozen times "who do you think would do better?" none of them answers the question. So I think it id safe to conclude from their non answer they think President Trump is doing just fine thank you very much.

    More of your copy/paste spam?
Your deficit of attention disorder flaring up again?

Still waiting for you to address the fact hat nowhere does Mueller concretely demonstrate that Trump acted with an intent to obtain an improper advantage for himself or someone else, inconsistent with official duty and the rights of others

Still waiting for your to address the fact that, absent said demonstration, obstruction does not exist

But you won't, because you know I am right.

I have an idea, why don't you find any economist who believes tariffs are good for our economy. When a discipline predicts certain actions are detrimental and then the market tanks after the actions are taken you usually don't need to think too hard to establish causation.
Damn I can't wait for Mexican tariffs to to to 25%, it will be sooo good for my 401K.

How bout you find an economist who believes the billions of dollars illegal immigrants cost American taxpayers is a good deal. The goal is to secure the border. Try to focus on the big picture... not the extra 25 cents that avocado might cost ya.

True, I copied and pasted an analysis I wrote. What seems to be your problem?

Answered, you didn't like the answer.

Explained a few times, you didn't care for the explanation.

I did. You knew I was right and failed to reply.

You seem to not know the behavior of the stock markets over the past few years. At the end of Bush's presidency the markets were taking a nose dive. Then Obama became president and set the economy straight. The markets, along with just about every economic indicator continued to rise throughout Obama's presidency. This trend continued through most of Trump's first year. Then the Republicans passed their tax cuts that mostly benefited the wealthy. Everything has been mostly stagnate ever since.

It is not Trump that is ruining the economy. He isn't bright enough. It is Republican economic ideology that is destroying our economy.

Yeah, yeah... all Trumps successes are really Obama's successes just like all of Obama's failures were really Bush's failures. Got it.
