So, he has stepped down from the Parlimentary Finance Committee (is that the right one?)....anyway... Could this be the start of his demise that will see a by election in Dobell? I wonder if the ALP lead was greater if this bloke wouldn't have already been shown the door? We could be in for some fun and games people!!! Sharpen the pencils......i feel an election coming on
I doubt it. Even if he goes, all that will happen is Harry Jenkins will resign as Speaker and Peter Slipper will take the Chair, leaving Labor with the same majority. Mind you - I don't know what all the fuss is about. I mean, when did it become a crime to take your employers credit card down to the rub-and-tug shop?!?! Everybody does it. It is just part of the whole "work-life balance" deal.
LOL Come on cast aside your partisan hackles, roles reversed the ALP would be doing the same. Do you think that in easier times he would have been put aside by now? Anyway you seem to know more about what would happen if he lost his seat than any other commentary i have heard....PMS. Interesting weeks ahead.
While we're on the topic of pollies doing stuff they're not s'posed to, whatever has happened with that Liberal (senator?) that's been charged with shoplifting?
Of course they would do the same. This is just games to them Michelle Grattan - via crikey.com - has hinted that the Labor "Dirt Unit" has been hard at work stitching up "Slippery Pete" Michelle Grattan dropped a tasty tit bit that Labor had dirt on an unnamed Coalition MP and might pull the trigger if the Craig Thomson allegations gathered any more steam. ...Crikey understands that the MP referred to by Grattan is none other than Slipper, or Slippery Pete as he is widely known on Capital Hill. He would presumably be assisted in his decision-making by an implicit Labor threat to detonate a dirty bomb if he failed to cross the floor. http://www.crikey.com.au/2011/08/22/whos-the-mystery-mp-that-grattan-referred-to-this-morning/ What a charming lot of bastards they all are!
I think she is suffering from severe depression. Even the worst bastards in Parliament may be a bit reluctant to use her as a football - but rest assured, I'm sure they will if they have to.
No, this would be quite incorrect, the government would be locked with equal votes. Simple, it is called embezzlement. if he had paid for somebody else to have the service and declared it as such, he could have called it PR, but unfortunately he deceptively gained personal benefit from the transaction and deceived his employers with his expenditure. I see you are glad to support fraud when it suites you and complain when it does not.
The Speaker doesn't vote It is called misuse of a credit card and it happened before the bloke was elected. No charges were pressed at the time. Charges rarely are pressed in such matters. The reason things are happening now is purely because of political games. Not any sort of legal process. Could you remind us where I ever complained about any other politician misusing a credit card in his previous place of employment? Or did you just make that up?
