They wouldn't be going to Lourdes if their weren't any cures. So the answer would be YES!

A Church cannot sentence a person to death, since every soul is precious and the longer one lives, the more chance they have to repent. What the Catholic Church did was to find them guilty of heresy, and then they were handed over to the secular authorities. The civil authorities passed the death sentence since heresy was considered a threat to the State.

The problem in Spain is that many of the converts weren't truly converts and entered the Church and became priest and bishops. This is why there was an inquisition.

Not that I'm excusing it, but it was a different era and the punishments were much more severe - and don't think for one minute the Jews and Muslims were angels. They weren't believe me.

As for the Protestants, I believe they burned 20 thousand witches at the stake. This doesn't mean they weren't practicing witchcraft and endangering others. Most probably were, but I'm sure there were innocent people among them as well.

As for the witch trials at Salem, it had to do with a Creole that had come from New Orleans. She somehow influenced the young girls and strange things began going on.

I'm going to go deeper into Saint Bernadette, who is called the beautiful Saint Bernadette because her body is incorrupt - as most Saints bodies are.

From what I know, the Pope was having a problem with his Cardinals who were being influenced by Protestant concepts that affected the Catholic perception of Mary in regard to our redemption.

When Mary appeared at the Grotto, Bernadette was told to ask her who she is. When she identified herself as the Immaculate Conception, it shocked the Pope since there was no way a young peasant girl could even know what the term meant.

This by the way is one of the problems between the Orthodox Church and the Catholic Church, since it was made dogma without an Ecumenical Council. From what I know though it can be solved, since the dogma wasn't fully defined at the time.

God performs many miracles, but so does the adversary. Satan does have powers, the difference of course is in the fruits. If one is humbled because of the gift, and brought closer to God, then it's of God. If the gift accentuates ones pride in themselves in any way, then it cannot be of God.

Here are a few more videos of what is going on today at the Church of Saint Isadore and the Chapel of Saint Jude at the Lycavettos Mountain in Athens.

The Cross Father Demetrios has, will stick only onto the spot where it's needed like a magnet when a cure is taking place.

This girl had a brain hemorrhage. The doctors said that if she lives, she won't be able to see, walk or talk. The first time the Cross enabled her to walk. The second time it was placed on her mouth and she could talk:

This boy had Leukemia like Father Demetrios did when he was young, and like Father, he too was cured by the Cross:

This is the well known video of a girl with Multiple Sclerosis that went around the world:

Here's a girl handing Father her crutches, as so many others have done:

Of course these sorts of stories are the basis for the question how come amputees are never healed?

If God needed Mary to give His Word/Christ a physical body, it means that God cannot create a physical body part out of nothing. There has to be certain components in order to form the leg or arm, and they don't exist.

That's the best answer I can give.

JET3534 - I don't know if my answer if right because I have a lot of questions concerning it. The best answer would be that God is only concerned about a person's eternal life and not their temporal life.
