I think this is a worldwide mental health treatment breakdown we are seeing now. All this political turmoil is really just crazies acting out and the politics/religion comes in later. We need to get these people to see a qualified psychiatrist, not a political candidate or Imam

Religious fanatics are a threat to civil society

who cares if someone believes different than you, your faith is weak if you need to use violence or the force of government to try and covert people

 

Within the Russian Federation there are Islamic Republics, and to curb extremism, Putin got together with the head Imam of Moscow. They decided the best way to curb extremism was by having classes that will teach Muslims students a more correct form of Islam. That way they won't be susceptible to Islamic extremism - no matter how many terrorists are being sent in through Afghanistan and now through Azerbiajan as well.

Anyway, I think after what was done to Syria and Iraq by Western nations, that the distrust and animosity is too far gone to ever be undone. The think tanks that came up with our policies, must be idiots.. Then again, what else is new?

 

What people should remember is that these people think they are being moral and right, if you believe your morals come from a god of the Abrahamic faiths then you have the right to kill people in that gods name.

Putin probably warned them to curb their extremists or else. I don't think the French have the fortitude of Russians. Besides, they are a small country and the people are intermingled. I don't think it's feasible to partition a portion as a Muslim Republic. But I hope it works for Russia and for Muslims. Muslim Americans seem to be law abiding, hard working, family oriented and accustomed to the large variety of different cultures and customs found in America, all of whom have their own crazies. But we are far from ground zero of mid east extremism. So that makes it far easier to assimilate and get used to the variety, the good and the disgusting that liberty allows.

 

The Russian Federation wasn't deliberately portioned, the Islamic Republics were always Muslim. There is also one or two Buddhist states, and a Jewish state that was given to them by the Tsar. All in all, there are 123 languages spoken in the Russian Federation, and about 60 languages are taught in school together with Russian.

There was a lot of resentment towards the Chechnyans by the Russians because of the wars, but they were caused by extremists from the Gulf states, and aided by the CIA so it would split from the Federation. When Kadyrov's father made overtures to Vladimir Putin, Putin went against all his advisors and trusted him, and from then on there was peace.

A lot of money went into developing Chechnya which again caused resentment, but the Chechnyas proved their loyalty when Kadyrov offered the services of his men in Syria. As Sunnis, they were trusted by most of the population.

When Vladimir Putin gave special rights to the Muslim republics, he said it was the hardest thing he ever did, yet sometimes trust goes a long way and it did work out for them. Will it continue to do so if Russia ends up in a war with Turkey, and Vladimir Putin is not the President anymore? I guess only time will tell.
