I don't see a race war and I don't see us ever choosing up sides and putting armies out in a field. I do see sniper and IED and mortar attacks and, eventually, retaliation. Sorta like Sarajevo or Dublin. In fact, I see that as pretty likely.

In both cases, they were mostly considered cheap labor not worthy of being sent into the 'glory' of battle. Also you must have an extremely, extremely loose understanding of what it means to be a liberal/socialist to think that the Civil War demonstrated that.
They fail to condemn it because they agree with it, they just dont come right out and say it, its known as "dog-whistle politics".

Having a "race war" in the United States would signal to the world that we as a country have finally hit rock-bottom on the intellectual scale. It would be tantamount to the entire country getting a mass lobotomy so that only our most base instincts still function. The insult "Wow, that guy/girl is dumber than an American" would now be the worst most insulting thing you could say to a person. Animals who can't even speak would hold more weight in every single area of thought than we would. God I hope my country is smarter than that. If we aren't, we don't deserve to be a country.

Really? Care to post a reference? I see from your profile you're in/were in the navy. Could you serve in a war where the enemy consisted of white people (non-Americans). And there wouldn't be a race war because most white people aren't racists either, so it'd be like 90/10 split. Sorry but the days where racists could conjur any meaningful numbers are over

The army was one of the least racist places I have been! I am a white Southerner and when I joined the army I had a baddddd attitude. In any case you fight for yourself and your buddy not for folks back home etc etc. Its just human nature, ask any combat solider. A more accurate statement would be everything is secondary to yourself and your bud, which isn't a recognized unit system in the service but still its you and your bud then a squad then the platoon. My bud was as black as coal and we got along fabulously, after a few adjustments. Ten years ago I would have said a race war in the USA would be impossible. Now I am not so sure. I still doubt it would happen but if it does I will not be a part of it. reva
