I didn't say Congress. I said the Federal government. You do recognize the Judicial Branch as part of the Federal government?

    Most definitely.
.She wanted to get to the congress members/staffers who were at the end of the hall being moved to safety.
What her plans were once she got there we'll never know.

    I would like to know
    1. The deceased did something terrible because of which he was killed
    2. The deceased did nothing, but he was killed for no reason

My mistake in that I was thinking of
    §2385. Advocating overthrow of Government
Whoever knowingly or willfully advocates, abets, advises, or teaches the duty, necessity, desirability, or propriety of overthrowing or destroying the government of the United States or the government of any State, Territory, District or Possession

    Being applicable to

    §2383. Rebellion or insurrection
Whoever incites, sets on foot, assists, or engages in any rebellion or insurrection against the authority of the United States or the laws thereof,

So a violation of Federal Law in Portland against the Federal Court house would be equivalent to Jan 6.

I have indeed fought with coked up people who were very hard to control and string. How many coked up people have you arrested?

I expect they'll be also charged with the Federal Crime of violating Tyre Nichols Civil Rights for the continuing of beating him and not giving him medical aid.
Just like Chauvin and his 3 thugs were charged with.

    Snip:

"The Memphis police remain in the intersection for several minutes and hear over their radio that Nichols has been found.

“I hope they stomp his a--,” one officer says as they wait.

    “What?” another officer says.
“I hope they stomp his a--,” the officer repeats.
Video two: A security camera on a pole shows the beating
Video shows Memphis police beating Tyre Nichols
    4:25
This 30-minute clip, recorded by a security camera on a pole, has no sound, but shows Memphis police delivered at least two kicks and two baton strikes, and five punches to Tyre Nichols’s face.
Two officers are seen struggling with Nichols, who is lying on the pavement, as they appear to try to handcuff him. At 8:34 p.m., a third officer can be seen exiting a police car and approaching them. After appearing to say something, he then takes a kick at Nichols, though it is unclear whether he makes contact with his head or another body part, as the officer appears to slip.

The officer appears to say something else — then takes another kick or swipe with his right leg, appearing to aim at Nichols’s arm.

Moments later, a fourth officer arrives, brandishes his police baton, and strikes Nichols in the back. The officer strikes him a second time and, as Nichols struggles to his feet, perhaps to avoid more blows, the same officer who did the kicking circles around and punches him in the face. That officer then punches him four more times, as the first two officers restrain his arms.
After hitting and kicking him for several moments, Nichols is handcuffed on his stomach. A police officer drags Nichols over to a car, where he sits him down."

The cops overdid this one, he could have been cuffed before almost all of that.

"After hitting and kicking him for several moments, Nichols is handcuffed on his stomach. A police officer drags Nichols over to a car, where he sits him down.

At this point, there are at least seven officers on the scene, patting each other on the back and waving flashlights. Many are clearly out of breath; one fist-bumps another.
More than 15 minutes after the beating began, with Nichols in clear medical distress, no one is attending to his injuries. As police continue milling about, Nichols can no longer keep himself up with his back against the car and falls over to his side.
[Timeline: Videos show Tyre Nichols waited 22 minutes for an ambulance]
About 26 minutes into the clip, a medic appears and begins tending to Nichols’s injuries. At this point, three officers are largely blocking his body from the camera."

A little reminder just what these violating someone's Civil Rights looks like.

"Former Minneapolis Police Officer Derek Chauvin Sentenced to 'More Than 20 Years in Prison for Depriving George Floyd and a Minor Victim of their Constitutional Rights'

"The Justice Department announced today that former Minneapolis Police Officer Derek Chauvin, 46, was sentenced to serve 252 months in prison with credit for time served for depriving George Floyd Jr. and a then-14-year-old child of their constitutional rights.

"On Dec. 15, 2021, Chauvin pleaded guilty in federal court to violating a federal criminal civil rights statute on two separate occasions. First, Chauvin pleaded guilty to willfully depriving Mr. Floyd of his constitutional right to be free from the use of unreasonable force by a police officer, resulting in Mr. Floyd’s bodily injury and death. In the plea documents, Chauvin agreed that the sentencing for this crime should be based on the sentence for second-degree murder because he acted willfully and in callous and wanton disregard of the consequences to Mr. Floyd’s life.

In the plea agreement, Chauvin also admitted that he willfully violated Mr. Floyd’s constitutional right not to be deprived of liberty without due process of law, which includes an arrestee’s right to be free from a police officer’s deliberate indifference to his serious medical needs. Specifically, Chauvin admitted that he failed to render medical aid to Mr. Floyd, although he saw that Mr. Floyd was lying on the ground, in serious medical need, and although he was aware that MPD policy required him to provide emergency medical aid, including CPR, to an arrestee who needs it. Chauvin admitted that his failure to render medical aid resulted in Mr. Floyd’s bodily injury and death.

Chauvin also pleaded guilty to willfully depriving a then-14-year-old child of his constitutional right to be free from the use of unreasonable force by a police officer, resulting in the child’s bodily injury.

I'm thinking it's possible the shoddy police work in Memphis is a reflection of its leadership.

Are you in any way familiar with this case?
It was and could not be a hate crime against blacks. AFAIK, all 5 cops involved were black.

It's right there with the Fed crime of violating someone's civil rights.
    Excessive force
    No medical treatment
    Kidnapping
Chauvin and his 3 thugs all were indicted for violating George Floyds civil right and pled guilty.
These Fed charges were separate from the state charges/trial where Chauvin got 22.5 yrs for killing Floyd/
