You increase taxes on the rich too much they leave and take their money with them. Increase immigration to third world nations will decrease the wage and increase unemployment. Net result a US who is full of poor people struggling to survive and no rich people to pay the bills.

Isn't this about tax evaders? Isn't tax evasion against the law? I, for one, am tired of those that are willing to enjoy the advantages of our society without taking on the responsibilities. Lets not make heroes of tax evaders; if all tax evaders paid their share the deficit might not be as high or the rest of us might have to pay less.

Well, that is certainly a very power non sequiter comment on an article about cracking down on tax evaders.

They aren't tax evaders, they're tax refugees.

If they paid "their fair share"?? The rich already pay more than their "fair share" - but you rabble want it all.

Not only do you want it all - you can't do your sums... you've stupidly abandoned the rule of law, you've stupidly maxed out your credit card, you stupidly believe the demogoguery of snake oil salesmen, you've stupidly debauched your currency, you've stupidly bankrupted posterity, on and on... and you want someone else to pay for your stupidity.

You're ignorant and delusional. Sadly, you are in the majority, and have no interest in stopping the stampede - you'll run us right over the cliff, and blame someone else for it.

Here's your handiwork - $175 trillion in debt and unfunded liabilities within 4 years. You can steal every penny, every "rich" person has, and you'll still never cover your credit card tab.

Yeah. So now "conservatism" means letting the rich get away with tax evasion, much less more tax cuts for the rich?!?!?

Eisenhower must be rolling over in his grave. Even Goldwater and Reagan.

You keep throwing that word tax evasion like it is a racial slur.

Just a simple question, if you lived in another part of the world would you think it was fair that your taxes kept increasing even though you were seeing zero benefit from your investment?

They don't see the roads, police, medical and really even e military that they are paying for?

Why wouldn't you denounce your citizenship? Let me guess, 'Mericuh!!!

First of all, you make the assumption that all people who evade taxes are rich, that isn't so.
Secondly if they have evaded taxes they can't have already paid their fair share...that's what evading taxes means.
Thirdly they people who have evaded taxes have abandoned the rule of law not me.
Fourthly, I pay my own way and that includes my taxes.

Amerika has abandoned the rule of law - and since you seem to be a cheerleader for the things the government demands its citizens pay for - things that are unconstitutional, then yes you have abandoned the rule of law yourself.

If you want to live in a country that embraces positive government, and you see nothing wrong with positive government, then you have believed the lie and deserve to lose your freedom - which is what is exactly happening. How you don't see it is an amazement.

Government should necessarily be as small as possible. For freedom to ring, government must be negative - it must be constrained by the rule of law. Amerika abandoned the rule of law altogether in the 1930's when the radical left was able to gain control of the SC, and they reinterpreted the Constitution to be anything anyone said it was - as long as it was positive, i.e. the government not only can do this, and can do that, but it should do this, and it should do that.

Now you have a government that demands its citizens purchase things - and don't even bring up the car insurance BS. That is something that is taken up on an state by state basis, and as long as that states constitution allows for such a thing, it is valid and legal. The FedGov has no such authority, which is why that POS Roberts had to legislate from the bench, and play the game of sophistry.

If we had the rule of law still protecting us from statists, we wouldn't have run away budgets, insane spending, and the taking from the citizenry necessary to fuel it all.

America died a long time ago - Amerika has replaced it... you are obviously an Amerikan, as most people who live within our squishy borders are.

Actually I think tax EVASION...is a crime. You seem to think it means the same thing as tax AVOIDANCE.

BTW, if the rich "flee overseas when their taxes are too high".....why wasn't there a complete mass exodus of the wealthy in the 1950s when Eisenhower was President and we had an 85%+ top marginal rate????

Like the poor, illegals, and multi generational welfare queens who spurt out kids left and right hoping one will become her lotto ticket in the NBA/NFL.

Wow, such lies. What was the effective rate? And how many people didnt pay any income tax back then? Right now, we have about 50% of working Americans not paying any income taxes, and a very large portion of those getting more money back then they paid in. So lets see, why didnt they leave? Cause at least most of their fellow citizens were contributing something as well, and werent calling for the rich to pay more.

This is nothing new. Just the US is seeing it for the first time.

Why do you suppose John Lennon spent the last years of his life in NYC instead of Liverpool?

That's kind of weird, considering that we have among the lowest, if not the very lowest, taxes on the rich of any industrialized country.

The rich are paying effective tax rates that are less than half what they were in the prosperous 1950s according to a prominent conservative "think" tank.

Taxes, at one level or another, are higher on the rest of us as a result.

    Bad try, Rush.

This has to do with double taxation. They are being taxed for money not earned in the US because they are US citizens even though they don't live in the US.

Same Ike who tried to get a tax cut that JFK did get? Yes. You are right. Lets cut taxes, it would be the sensible thing to do, something even Democrats understood back in the day.

In the fullness of time, long after I'm dead and gone, ...

America the third world nation, with a population of eager to achieve, half-starved, hardened by hardships, wise to the false trap of government "FreeStuff", self-educated in industry and science, by what ever means needed...

These new pioneers for that old, long fallow, backward Nation of America, will rise up to become a global superpower of Industry, Science, and Sol Stellar Exploration!

I would be happier if the government spent less money and we all could pay less in taxes.

I have not called called for larger government nor have I been a cheerleader for wasteful or unnecessary government programs. I believe in the Constitution which gives the government the right to tax; but I am not in favor of making heroes of those who do not pay their taxes...that is against the law. If people don't like the law change it.

If you are trying to say that the wealthy are over taxed that is a different argument than tax evaders are good.

Well right now there is less than one million tax payers that earn over one million a year so I would say they are already a very small population. If they all left it would clear the playing field and allow american citizens to rebuild America which is needed right now.

Bleed them? That's a laugh. Most corporate greedsters hide their money offshore, so their "blood" that they generated right here in the US, can't be touched. This is corporate BS at its finest.
