    Beginning in late 2013 and early 2014, Turkish border cities became the chief logistical hubs for foreign fighters seeking to enter Syria and Iraq to join the Islamic State and other rebel groups. By all accounts, foreign fighters from around the globe first traveled to Turkey and then on to Iraq and Syria, forming the backbone and striking power of the Islamic State. In 2013 alone, some 30,000 militants traversed Turkish soil, establishing the so-called jihadi highway, as the country became a conduit for fighters seeking to join the Islamic State. By August 2015, Turkey did eventually..

    Everyone was buying Syrian oil from the rebels including Israel and Assad. The broker was a Syrian guy traveling on a Russian pass port with an Alawite wife.

    Turkey does get oil from ISIS. ISIS steals the oil from Iraq and Syria. The oil is paid for in advance and fuel trucks line up and take the oil to the buyers. There are several additional middle men, and the potential for many hazards, along the way. The oil trucks are sometimes hit by Allied air strikes.

    The problem is not that Brennan lost a clearance per se, it's that he lost his clearance for speaking out against the government. Please tell me you see the distinction.

    Former CIA Director John Brennan no longer has a security clearance. It’s been revoked. He’s out of the club. Oh, and you bet the liberal news media was all over this, once again going into meltdown mode over something that was perfectly within the president’s authority. But like with anything that Trump does, we're always on the verge of a total constitutional crisis…in CNN-land. Guy also wrote that Brennan’s pervasive partisan antics warranted his clearance being revoked. Oh, but it’s all politically motivated, you see (via Politico):

    That is correct. There's a detailed process for anyone with a clearance to view classified information. You can have a TS/SCI and not be able to access certain areas of SCIF's with the same clearance level.

    I guess the easy way to put it, is "need to know". But it's still more complicated than that.

    Yes he does. And he needs to be run through a program, and approved by a security manager (or program) to view it even if he has a higher clearance than required.
