It'll make 2014 interesting....either Tea Party will win or lose in the Primary...and either way?

    Democrats win.

Bevin loses, the TP can't claim they have any power or influence.
Bevin wins, he's taken out the Senate Leader for the GOP, thrown the Party in chaos, and likely will pull a "Richard Mourdock" or "Todd Akin"...and you could see a Democrat win a Kentucky Senate seat for the first time in years.

OR...Bevin wins the election and being a novice, either "sells out" (like Rubio) or continues to be Hard Right (like Cruz)....and again 2016 becomes a better environment for Democrats.

My guess is that McGoo will put his slime machine on overdrive to dispose of TP Bevin in the primary, and then beg the TPs to come out for him in the general after he has just dumped all over them. Meanwhile, the berserkers are forming their own Donner Party:

That's a fun scenario.....Mitch smears the crap out of Bevin, wins a narrow primary challenge, then has to send his surrogates (or tell Talk Radio hosts like Sean Hannity) to tell the Kentucky Tea Partyers "You better turn out...or we won't be able to repeal Obamacare or TRY to impeach him!!!!!!!"

And watch the TPers have to dutifuly trudge into the voting booths for another "Romney vote". :)

... and in Kentucky, TP inamorata Randy adds to the hijinks! By entertaining presidential pipe dreams and consequently going establishment in backing the terrapin, he's betraying the local TPs.

When did anyone ever apply the word "byzantine" to a heap of bluegrass manure?

Even BETTER.....who will Rand back in the Primaries?

Even if he tries to "stay neutral"....the paranoid Tea Partyers will see it as "Rand doesn't want to commit to Bevin...he wants to stay friendly with the Establishment!!!!!"

In yet another skirmish in Turdblossom's "War Against the TPs", Kentucky's endangered recumbent tortoise is snapping like a prepubescent, toothless pirana.

Actually, it sounds as if the old turtle, renown for his substance-free campaigns, is being comparatively civil, albeit infantile. Don't be surprised if he cordially approaches the promising challenger before they debate and entreats, "Pull my finger!"

(Ms Grimes appears sufficiently savvy to respond, "Out of where?")

Meanwhile, McGoo, in yet another of his substance-free smearfests, hopes to cling to his cushy seat via a huge fundraising advantage courtesy of the well-heeled Washington lobbyists beholden to him for a steady flow of corporate welfare and other favours. His opponent has sunk to an unconscionable level of depravity - also raising money, although not nearly as much as the perennial recumbent. Poor ol' Kentuck' has never witnessed such a lavish shindig!

The unpopular Senator is desperately trying to maintain his virtue as TPs try to de-pant him in the primary, but keeping up his britches is costing him dearly.

After weeks of gawking at the elective weather vane, his rushing forth to denounce military action against Syria - only after the pressure to do so had already resulted in a diplomatic resolution to achieve its goal by other means - served to enhance his perceived impotence as a Party leader, and his likely machinations to cut yet another budget "deal" with the Administration certainly does not endear him to the TP types, either.

The ol' Turtle has sniffed the stench of decomposition emanating from the TPs. I wouldn't be surprised if his handlers are now photoshopping in his kisser to replace that of the leading contender for the GOP's 2016 presidential nomination.

Many of us here in KY really do not much care who wins.....as lone as Turtleman loses.

The Turtle has a problem. Amidst the glitches nationally, Kentuckians are flocking to successfully register under the Affordable Care Act!
