SNIP “On my watch, Bob will be allowed to complete his work,” Barr plans to tell the Senate in his opening statement on Tuesday, according to a transcript released on Monday. “I believe it is in the best interest of everyone — the President, Congress, and, most importantly, the American people — that this matter be resolved by allowing the special counsel to complete his work. The country needs a credible resolution of these issues. If confirmed, I will not permit partisan politics, personal interests, or any other improper consideration to interfere with this or any other investigation.” ENDSNIP https://www.nationalreview.com/news...ll-vow-to-let-mueller-complete-investigation/ Well, this is decent news in an otherwise indecent news period... I'm not sure Barr could have shut it down (politically) at this point anyway, but good to hear otherwise... I'm actually stunned Trump picked somebody with both experience and intelligence.. I didn't figure him to have access to folks like that... He must have accidentally swiped Left on his INeedAnAttorneyGeneral App... I predict the Barr hearings will go very smoothly and he'll win confirmation easily... After all, it's unlikely he was chugging beers with Squi and PJ back in the day... Thoughts?
I didn't sat Trump doesn't call a witch hunt what it is -- a witch hunt. I just believe Trump has zero problem with the new AG's position on what he will do or not do about the witch hunt.
But does he believe that he can choose what parts of the report will be revealed to the public and protect the POTUS?
How impressive. Now that the report is done and tied in a red, white, and blue ribbon, how much of it will see the light of day? As AG, Barr can cut slice, dice, roast the report any way he wants. His "redacted" marker will run out of ink in the first day You still trust these guys?
You libs and your false narratives. As usual you scream, holler, kick, and scream he's going to shut it down and yet two years later Mules has never been impeded. You guys make Charlie Brown seem like an all pro kicker.
Lmaoooo yea , is it now coming across to you that it’s possible people in the justice deprarment might act in unethical ways for certain political outcomes?
Trust is not a part of the equation.... I imagine sections of the Mueller report will not be made public, due to either classified information or sources and methods... However, as long as the entire report is made available to all Congressional inquiries, I'll likely have no problems with some public redactions by Barr.. Hope I'm right... think I will be... regardless of what you think of Barr and the Mueller report, for Trump to even FIND a former AG willing to work for him is jaw dropping... Have to imagine somebody who previously did this job will try and be above board.
Gosh why would think that trump wouldn’t want this to continue....he’s spoken so highly of their work lol
The AG determines what parts of Mueller's report is made public or given to congress, though he has to follow in place DOJ guidelines for doing such.
Of course not. It is somewhat like watching a crazed gorilla tearing up the jungle and throwing dead animals to the wind. Sometimes it's better to let him run his course rather than go stand up to him.
Sounds to me that you are coming to the same conclusion some in the press are hinting at, that there will be nothing in the Mueller report that connects Trump to any illegal ties with Russia.
That's the question. He has referred to legal restrictions on what will be disclosed. Will he: a. Disclose everything, except what he is legally required not to make public? or b. Only disclose what he is legally required to make public? There could be a big difference. I'd like one of the Senators to ask him to make a commitment on that. I would also like someone to ask him whether Trump asked for any commitments as to what he would do if confirmed: - did Trump ask him to commit not to recuse himself? (or have any discussions about whether he would recuse himself) - did Trump ask him to commit to not issuing any indictments against him? Or his family? (or have any discussions about this And how did he respond, when / if Trump asked these things? I'm sure there are other areas, but those are things I'd put at the top of my list.
