Currently I live in a very conservative part of NC, however the young people here get it From a parent I know of one of these young people "I was talking with my soon to be 17 yr old son. I cherish those moments because 17 yr. olds don't talk to adults that much. We were talking about school and the political climate. He was telling me about his English class and reading The Crucible. A classroom discussion revolved around a comparison of our current political situation and the time period of The Crucible. My son became animated and emotional while banging off the similarities between the two. I heard him express anger, disbelief, and then respond to it with satire and disdain. He told me how much young people, most of them, hated trump and the wall and the lies and the deceit. This surprised me. I didn't know they were really paying attention. My son is exposed more than some I guess, I'm politically active. He hears about all my activities and he knows his mother is protesting. I wanted him to know what I was fighting for in case I didn't come home some day. But I've tried my best to teach my son that yes, we are members of society. We follow certain rules. When those rules hurt people or places or animals, we must raise our voice. We are responsible for the condition of the world. We have to stand as individuals to be part of the greatest good. Does that make sense? I mean, if I, as an individual, don't get off my butt and do something about our current political predicament, and nobody else does either, we will soon be awash in Putin style government. What my son taught me today is that things may not be as hopeless as I imagined. The youth can see what's going on. They won't accept it. They will be an up and coming force to be reckoned with. So, like the song goes, Teach Your Children Well.'
Given that your #1 issue was intelligence and national security which you said that Hillary had "betrayed" with her email server I am curious as to how you feel about Trump now that it appears that he could well be Putin's Matryoska Candidate?
What Trump has done is to write EO's and look what a disaster BOTH of his immigration EO's have turned out to be. Then there was his meeting with the leader of the free world, Angela Merkel, and he came over like boiled sprat who had just had his favorite toy confiscated. His "signature achievement" seems to be getting some of his cabinet approved by the Senate.
The next generation is not buying the division, dishonesty and deceit that the extremist alt right is promoting.
Trumps base are older white Christians and they are literally dying off, it is not the progressives who, by the way are younger and more educated who don't pine to go back to the 1950's. They are America's future, not the past http://nymag.com/daily/intelligence...mps-movement-will-soon-literally-die-off.html
Talk about the denial of reality. The very fact that Trump IS President is a denial of reality. The actual recorded majority of voters did NOT want him as President and by a respectably wide margin for an election of this size. He won by a statistical FLUKE not likely to be repeated and, most importantly, did not and DOES not have the support of the majority of Americans, that much is demonstrable, irrefutable and undeniable FACT. All you conservatives continuing on with this bleating that "all the polls were wrong" (whereas in fact they were right for the popular vote) and "we won, we won" is not going to change the facts, You and your candidate were NOT the popular side, and this constant claiming that everyone loves you, we're all now staunch conservatives and, most of all, everyone really likes being royally screwed by you is making you more and more HATED, by more and more people, every day
didn't you democrats learn anything from the last election one would think if anything you would have learned not to trust not to believe in any if these fake as skewed bias polls and Quinnipiac University was the worse of them all Quinnipiac University last poll in the 2016 presidential election had Clinton winning by 7 points
Left wing, I've been asked multiple times why I believe you want a war with Russia. Just look at this guy's avatar and remember WW2. Thank you, Guno for proving my point.
Ruh roh, the Koch Brothers are pledging millions to anyone who votes against Trumpcare. http://www.cnn.com/2017/03/22/politics/kochs-reserve-fund-health-care/index.html
It is my impression that a significant number of republicans, most of whom are invested in the status-quo, are determined to oppose Trump's agenda no matter what. McCain is a good example. I do not get the impression that that number is growing, rather, it's just getting louder. It makes no difference to the McCain crowd whether what Trump wants to do is in line with the republican and/or conservative agendas, or not. They will oppose it only because it has been put forth by a political outsider that has infiltrated the crony's good-ole-boy network. The McCain's of the hill would have been happier if Hillary had won than Trump, because Hillary represented business-as-usual, along with all the comfortable corruption and cronyism that comes with it.
This isn't Trump's core base. These are typically Republican leaning indepdendent voters that voted for Trump because they were "Never-Hillary" independent voters. We won't see Trump's base eroding until support for Trump drops below 25% and even then it's won't necessarily reflect those that supported Trump because many were simply anti-Hillary voters.
Calm down Guano. President Trump has derailed and reversed dozens of obama's executive orders in just the few short weeks he has been in office. Regarding your healthcare concerns, do you not have access to healthcare? If not, blame obama not Trump. As you noted, Trump hasn't addressed that issue as of yet.
*than And LOL @ thinking his supporting base is eroding when he's trying to do everything he told us he'd do. But if we've learned anything over the past year and a half, it's that anti-Trumpers will believe any anti-Trump story they hear whether it's backed up with non facts or plum fantasy. Thanks for reminding us that it's not gonna change anytime soon.
Do you have a point? Trump won all of the battleground states that Obama won in 2012. Do you understand why?
That's one story that has no proof behind it, while you're steadily asking for proof. My oldest son will be old enough to vote in 2020 and guess who he's voting for, along with almost every student at his school that brings up Trump. I'll have 2 more ready to vote in the 2024 election and they won't be voting democrat, rest assured. So there's my anecdotal story vs some dude that supposedly took time out his busy life and protesting to talk to his kid.
There's nothing "less crony" about the Trump administration than we would have seen under a Clinton administration. Trump's clear favoritism for the wealthy in both his rough tax proposal as well as support for the AHCA (class cronyism), his agenda for deregulation (corporate cronyism), and defunding of agencies that serve the social good (anti-social cronyism) is just as "crony" as Hillary Clinton could have come up with. The problem that many Republican political leaders object to is the Trump administration's intentional destruction of US economic and political world leadership. Trump has absolutely destroyed the creditability of the US by his blatantly false statements that are purely delusional. His abandonment of the TPP that was an effort to counteract the growing influence of China that handed China the leadership role in the Pacific. The proposed cutting of funding to the UN that will hand political leadership to Russia and economic leadership worldwide to China. His lack of knowledge of conflicts in the Middle East is scary to many, both Democrats and Republicans, because his lack of knowledge ensures he'll make the wrong decisions most of the time.
Heard that from another poster for the last 2 years, and that was why Republicans would never win again. Trump has just as many young white voters, they just aren't out in droves crying and protesting and rioting. They're behind the scenes like the rest of us. Keep dreaming, dreamer.
Na, I'm positive Trump is trying to return America to the top of the list of countries most attractive for business. Trump is actually attempting to create jobs. I know it can seem a little confusing for people, because previous administrations merely talked about it.
That statement alone pretty much puts the entire progressive ideology in perspective. And pal, Clinton could have gotten a billion votes in California and thanks to the system that's worked for hundreds of years would still only grant her 55 electoral votes. She lost the popular vote in the states where it matters. You lost, get over it.
You just contradicted your own guy's thread with this... He based his claims on right wingers not liking the new healthcare, and you're posting sources that claim they're being paid to deny it.
