A little bit? Trump winning the second election could have consequences that will reverberate for decades (perhaps even centuries) to come. Yes, it could be the initiation of a whole new paradigm shift....

@Goomba, You have to admit, your views on Trump and a lot of other things, have undergone a radical shift. I am not sure about the reason exactly, but suspect it is probably because of what this article, at least, seems to consider a bad idea!

    https://warontherocks.com/2020/05/s...key-to-counter-iran-would-misread-the-region/
STRATEGIC FAIL: PARTNERING WITH TURKEY TO COUNTER IRAN WOULD MISREAD THE REGION
That change seems to have also changed your views on a lot of things!
    Your thoughts?

That's not impossible. Another 4 years could give him the time to consolidate a new and different economic and foreign policy towards China, maybe one that the rest of the West might consider emulating, but it's uphill all the way, and Trump would be fighting virtually every entrenched interest in the country (as he's been doing since being elected).

Which saved the world from tyranny of the USA. The balance of powers.

Nuclear fission was invented by Germany. It was laughable to believe the US can keep the bomb for themself.

Another GErman scientist, Ardenne helped to build the bomb for the USSR. After that USA could never use teh bomb again in fear that it gets blown away itself.

Of course the U.S could, just not against another major nuclear power. And I would add, the U.S could have destroyed the Soviets in the years following the war, but for some odd reason (or Communist sympathies) it did not. The point of my previous post was to highlight the dangers of foreign students studying at prestigious technical universities.

those prestigious technical universities have alot foreign born national as professor, you know. goto any tech grad school check it out. US is rely on alot foreign student to fill its commercial tech jobs. Look at CEO/CFO of many tech company as well as made up of employees, big chunk are foreign born. Its national security to keep US tech #1, since k12 education is crap here, we hire many foreigner in tech field after they graduate from STEM.

this is just 2013, now more ppl study in US due to raising of china/india

Germany was trapped between USA with nuclear weapons and USSR without nuclear weapons. Germany invented nuclear fission and had the knowledge of the bomb. From our point if view, if war would start in the 50th between USA and Russia, USA would not have hesitated to use nuclear bombs on german territory. To grant the russians acess to the bomb blocked the americans from using it on our soil.

Beside that, a large part of your students are foreigners as well as professors.

I think India is a national security risk as well as most corporations now hire India to manage American Data systems

can we trust Corporations that use China labor vs American labor?

Trump should have put strings on the Corp tax cuts, but he did not, missed opportunity to address this

We can have no choice in that case, but if I had my druthers we would go into full isolation mode and use automation to make a lot of the cheap crap that comes from ChiCom land.

Just for the cheap stuff like plastic straws and pens etc. Americans would fill in all the more high tech and industrial jobs.

American nationals cant be trusted either. So what now? Travel restrictions for evryone? USA does exactly what china does. Steals property from other nations, uses others patents, industrial spionage ect.

So according to you all nations should allow no chinese in, no americans in, no russians in, no germans in ect.

Who are you? Kim Jong un?

I will make it all simple for you: you either gravitate, ultimately, towards a 'tribal' concept of a world where various tribes (whether defined as nations, races, states etc) fight it out according to the rules of the jungle. Or, alternatively, you aspire to a more 'universalist' (globalist in modern political parlance) view of things. The latter, to be sure, should not be confused with the "tribalist" element that has sought and managed to win over the global economic order. The proper ethos of a universalist conception of human beings, both in a spiritual as well in a material sense, can be found in the same culture that Comte de Gobineau (the father of so-called "scientific racism" and Aryan supremacy theories) tried to study but whose lessons he totally corrupted --- in fact, turned essentially on its head -- to fit his tribalist narrative.

you do know high tech jobs ACTUALLY require skill/know how and experience right. you dont expect ppl drop out high school or in art school to do engineering or high skill manufacture jobs.
Automation will replace alot worker, since its more accurate, 24/7, cheaper when doing repetitive tasks.

This is why students would begin specialization around age 14. The American system as it is now is a complete failure. Teaching Shakespeare and chemistry to many students is a waste of time.

But India is friendly to the U.S. China is an enemy. India is not a threat either politically, economically or militarily. China is.
