    He will request recounts in Milwaukee and Madison counties.

    The Wisconsin Elections Commission confirmed that it has received a wire transfer from the campaign for $3 million to cover the costs of the partial recount, as required under state law.

    It's a cost-benefit balance. I think most, if not all, states have a margin of victory threshhold under which a recount is automatic and paid for by the state. That threshhold is usually 1%, but in some states, like PA, it's 0.5%. Trump wants a recount in a state where he lost by more than 1%, so his campaign has to pay. If candidates could just ask for a recount without any finanical repercussions, no matter what, we'd never see the end of an election.

    Edit: Correction, I see Trump lost by about 0.7% of the vote in WI. Their threshhold must be 0.5%, too.

    I started this thread with that post yesterday AM and correctly predicted the 2 counties he would pick if he didn't request the entire state. Which are Milwaukee and DANE counties, since "Madison" is not a county in Wisconsin.

    From 3:26 to 3:44 a.m. in The Associated Press election reporting stream, the vote for Biden jumped by 149,520 (9.2% of Biden's total votes) and Trump's vote jumped by 31,803 votes (2% of his total votes). Milwaukee County accounted for nearly all of that jump.
