On tape, is that it? The recording that CNN obtained?

Is that all the supposed evidence? They can't even agree what the conversation was all about.

Is that the only evidence the left are banking on?

You're confusing your fantasies with the reality, Cohen has pleaded guilty to multiple charges, Corsi hasn't even been charged with a single violation.

Perfectly reasonable question. There is plenty of circumstantial evidence, like even him demanding that his longtime lawyer go to jail because he is cooperating with the investigator, but much of the actual hard evidence has yet to be produced.

Cohen is no longer a prospective witness against Trump. He's a "liar" per Mueller.

Cohen Sentencing Agreement stating he lied about Trumps connection to Russia

Cohen's sentencing memo’s language regarding Trump describe's Cohen’s false statements to Congress about the Trump Tower Moscow Project. Rather than characterizing Cohen as acting on Trump’s direction, Cohen’s lawyers write that their client lied in order “to support and advance Trumps political messaging. Messaging that they describe Cohen as picking up from public statements by the president and his supporters, rather than any private discussions.

This is why Trump says Cohen needs to go to jail.

If Cohen’s lawyers had any information that Cohen lied to Congress at Trump’s specific direction or with his or his family’s active encouragement, they would have shared it in the sentencing agreement.

Well, So much for Cohen testifying about Trump colluding with Russians. So all they have now is a convicted felon (Cohen) that Mueller says in a liar, who has agreed to testify for a reduced sentence stating it was his understanding Trump paid two hookers.

This is what the country has paid millions of dollars for?

No, he applauded Roger Stone for not lying to the special council in exchange for a reduced sentence.

This is going to backfire spectacularly on Democrats, like nothing seen before. They may have to rebrand.

I am delighted that Trump sees value in the diligent work of the special counsel's office. But for Mueller's appointment, Cohen would not be going near a cell.

    Exactly.

So good to see Trump coming around to face reality (and cheering the hard work of the Special Counsel).

not even remotely close. And given the assets seized from Manafort, the american taxpayer is in the black on costs of the investigation so far.

And its not simply Cohen's word against trump's. Granted when it comes to who to believe when its two professional liars is a tough nut, but it seems Cohen has all kinds of documentation and reportedly tens of hours of recorded conversations. I guess we will have to put our faith in the justice system to crack that particular nut.

Cohen in his guilty plea specifically said he lied of his own volition because he wanted to protect trump. So that particular strand is a dead end in investigating if trump obstructed justice. There's still a bigly number of strands left to go tho.

Every dollar a campaign spends is intended to "influence the election" :roflol: PR ... that's not a crime. If Trump were concealing sexual misconduct, you'd have an actual conspiracy. Marital infidelity isn't sexual misconduct. Cohen secured NDA's ... he didn't cover up a crime, and securing those NDA's, even on behalf of the campaign isn't illegal.

It's the SDNY prosecutors who have Cohen on the hook. I doubt Mueller's 2 week prison stint for perjury is what Trump wants Cohen to serve every day of.

Trump thinks everyone who cooperates with the Mueller investigation is lying.

Do you really trust Trump over those people who have actually gone under oath and placed their legal and financial liberty at risk?

And if you wish to predict that this will result in some massive backlash against Democrats, despite them JUST winning the single largest victory, in terms of house popular vote, in US history and the largest pickup of house seats for them since Watergate...well, I would just ask that you please hold your breath until that happens.

The few Trump supporters that show up on the forum have been reduced to the “If Trump did it it’s not a crime” defense. The “law and order” crowd have been revealed as a base of Trump ideologues that don’t value the law at all. Then there is the “Mueller is corrupt” theme. Mueller keeps his mind focused and ignores such barbs. That drives the Trumpites crazy. The guy just doesn’t respond, much less react. Panic and desperation have taken over Trump and his followers. Things are getting closer now.

When the truth breaks out, the House will vote to impeach because there will be a lot of logs on that fire. When the blaze reaches the Senate, things will get even more interesting. The Trumpites belief that since the Senate is run by the GOP the Senate will stop everything in its tracks. If the blaze is high enough, the Senate will go to trial or be consumed by the flames. The American public has learned the power of a united voice. A lot of GOP senators are up for election in 2020, many more than Democrats.

Trump increasingly has trouble keeping his lies in order. First he loves Russia because that’s where most of the Trump organization gets their money. Then, ‘I have no business relations with, Russia who.’ According to GallupTrump’s approval rating has slumped below forty percent. Trump was a disaster on Veterans Day then spurned at the G20 gathering. His renegotion of NAFTA sounded pretty good, but was eclipsed by the death of George H.W. Bush in the news cycle. Trumps can’t catch a break these days. I would caution anyone becoming gleeful over all this because it is a dangerous situation.

Trump has been pushed off balance by events. His behavior is erratic and his demeanor is not that of a confident man. Trump is not a man accustomed to being held accountable for his actions, but this is Washington, not Trump, Inc. Washington has reined in better presidents than Trump and now the town is piling on. Nobody beats Washington because Washington is the ultimate establishment. It’s the guts of America on display. Trump has begun to faintly recognize this and his reaction is unpredictable. His response to such a state is to lash out. This is a dangerous president.

WOW... lot to unpack there... in no particular order:

    1. NAFTA 2.0 was agreed to back in late September. Twas just the signing that was eclipsed by Bush 41's death (on an unrelated note, I was a little surprised Trump made tomorrow a federal holiday... I'm thinking that wasn't his idea)

    2. True there are many more Trumpublican Senators up in 2020, but the majority of them are still safe as kittens in flyover country.... But there are certainly more at risk in 2020 than were in 2018 (I'm talking to you, Susie!!)

    3. Trump can't catch a break?? As the old saying goes, "I make my own luck".... Instead of "Trump can't catch a break", I prefer "We reap what we sow".

    4. For the record, the 12/2 Trump Gallup has him at 56/40, which is a slight improvement (Why??) from the cratered 60/38 from the week before.

sad isn't it that so many criminals get away with their crimes unless caught - if Trump commuted any crimes, let's hope he is caught
