    You miss the point. If he had taken the Presidential pay (even if he had subsequently donated it himself), it would have likely impacted the tax rate on all of his capital gains for years to come. Overall, taking the pay could have cost him much, much more than that 1.6 million income in increase capital gains tax. This is due to how the tax system works (and is manipulated by the very wealthy).

    The donation, rather than him not simply taking it, was just bonus propaganda.

    Trump didn't give up anything. Thats literally made from whole cloth.

    Trump lied to the cult in the 2016 election and claimed that he had "no business dealings in russia", yet Mueller exposed that Trump WAS activly working a deal to build a tower in Moscow.

    Ivanka got her Chinese patent within days of Donalds state visit to China. You know, the China that's "bad for america", yet his private business is getting deals there now ;)

    Stop with the BS That trump gave up anything, hell, he is literally profiting off of the presidency in plain site, as is PROVEN out by the Chinese patents. But he still fights to keep his taxes private so he can keep the cult alive

    OR.....maybe he is just not the "successful" business man peple believed limn to be. His record of bankruptcies , poor management, abuse of staff , constant legal issues doesn't bode well when assessing business acumen.

    His supporters have been sending him mega bucks...........so he isn't suffering.

    It seems rather doubtful that the Trump supporters get their information from sources like PBS or BBC. ( both of which are quality outlets) The y would generally follow the information sources that reinforces their beliefs.

    but each to his own...
