    no, that's just dumb.

Reducing regulations makes America a more attractive place to do business, and the more businesses there are competing for the consumers dollar, lowers the price of the consumables, thus saving the consumer money.

Its called the free market, and competition is a requirement.

Bush did not allocate any funds for saving the automotive industries...

There is no reason for either party to take any credit here - the Flint water crisis is such a staggering failure of government regulation & oversight that Congress actually acted. Obama & Trump have so far both allowed the allocation. Of interest too is whether the GOP-appointed proconsuls who actually switched the water source will stand trial, & under what charges.

The money will help fund replacing lead pipe feeder lines, not the entire water system. & Flint - due to bad recordkeeping? poor budgeting? is having trouble locating the lead feeder pipes that need to be replaced. Wrong pipes have been excavated & exposed, a waste of time, effort & money. As I recall, the lead pipe replacement project is scheduled to take 3 years, if fully funded.

I'm sure the chest-thumping here is very amusing for Tarzan fans - I'd rather discuss the actual issues to hand - because failing water infrastructure is already a national problem, & we need to work up cost-effective, safe alternatives to replacing all the lead pipes in the water systems.

Competition is a claimed requirement, but based on 2008 and other collapses, COLLUSION between competitors seems to be the status quo, and deregulation leads to market fixing.

    Free market is a failure.

The grant was promised in December by the Republican Congress. The grant was actually granted under Trump.

    That's false.

Bush allocated half the funds immediately and left the other half for Obama should it be needed.

The auto companies never needed additional funds, and they repaid those loans after they successfully restructured.

False, the government failed to prevent monopoly's or actively encouraged them for some stupid reason or another. Like giving loans to people who could never hope to repay those loans, and then backing those loans with government backed repayment insurance. Leaving the government on the hook for the money lent, and the money owed based on insurance claims.

Way to stay on-topic in a thread about the Flint Water crisis.

And, yeah, it was Obama who actually signed for the money months ago.

Did you even read the article before you posted it?

Not quite. Where has the GOP done anything other than to take away and weaken, allow to crumble or obstruct? The USA is lagging behind other nations in the sciences, education, technology, healthcare, etc. because of right wing extremist policies and corruption. Privatize everything is their answer which lines their pockets but screws over the average American. The trickle down voodoo crap kicked off the destruction of the middle class and even after over forty years, the are still selling that sack of bull-****.

    From the OP...

Trump EPA Goes A Long Way to Solving Flint Water Crisis; Media Silent
The grant announced Friday was promised to the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality by Congress in December.

Obviously the MSM media is too concerned with Trumps use of Russian salad dressing to cover the actual news out of the White House.

This is typical of the Bull$hit Trumpees like BestViewedWithCable love to post. Did BestViewedWithCable miss the fact that this was approved by Congress when Obama was President and has absolutely nothing to do with Trump.

Is the media supposed to write a glowing article every time the EPA does something Congress has already told them they must do?

False, it has everything to do with Trump and his restructuring of the EPA.

It also serves to prove those who claim Trump is a racist are complete and total liars.

Prove your claim: "The USA is lagging behind other nations in the sciences, education, technology, healthcare, etc. because of right wing extremist policies and corruption"

NAFTA and Chinas favorite nation trade status, signed by bill Clinton, is what destroyed the middle class.

Cause Trump blew up the EPA on day one, and restructured it. Trump issued an executive order to cut 2 regulations for every new one enacted. Trump made sure to keep the money for Flint available after the restructuring even though democrats and left handed commentators claimed he was a racist Nazi.

The Flint water system will be fixed because of the republican congress, and Trumps dedication to the American people.

Then why take the pathetic stance that it was a Trump thing in the first place? WTF. Another stupid thread.

I disagree. It would have been political suicide to stop the flow of money to Flint. Spin it all you want but this wasn't Trump's doing.
