SCOTUS will permit Trump to build a wall subject to the NEA.

Congress controlled by the Dems will not give him a dime.

She is smarter than Trump and a damned site better at her job (would be better at his too). He can't charm her and he can't bully her, so he is a bit lost. He could and should have passed wall funding while the GOP controlled both houses. Now he is out of his depth (well, further out of it). He might be able to find a work around for the wall, but that won't work every time. Pelosi has made it clear that he won't get anything he wants unless she gets something important to her, or maybe just not at all. Watch for the collective memory loss from GOP supporters on the subject of obstructive Congresses.

"A steel barrier?" Will that cost about the same as the wall, $5.7 billion? Because if it does, I'm sure Speaker Pelosi is going to say "No".

Yeah, she's so smart she made Trump look like a person willing to work with Dims whilst she reminded moderate voters of her partisanship with the "I'll give a dollar for the wall" comment. Then she doubled down on the state of the union address deal. Trump could have waltzed right in the House and gave it without Nancy's approval.....she's relying on a made up rule and he's got a Constitutional mandate. Moderates will kick her and her little socialists to the curb next election cycle.....

I enjoy watching the Trump wail and gnash their unhappiness.

There will be no "wall." Steel barriers are not a concrete wall.

If tRUMPers only new what our nations sovereignty is about.
Why do you think we have migrants in the country? Why don't we go after employers who illegally employ immigrants?
I've been asking that for 30 yrs.
Neither party has done anything to reform our immigration policies. We have put barriers up where ever we could feasibly do so.

So how a tRUMP and trumper think what's been going on for 30+ yrs is suddenly a border crises today. It's just made up public whining is all it is. A campaign promie to have MEXICO pay for the wall. A plan, to get Mexico to pay for it in 3 days was touted by tRUMP campaign. A written plan was on his campaign website.
Get the money from MEXICO as promised.
But, there is no national crises. And most of the American people know this. Which is why he lost this 1st battle. And if he doesn't change his tactic, will lose again.

    No national crisis exists.

Punish businesses and the illegals will decrease significantly in trying to cross our border.

I put the pot there, because the other poster was obviously high.
I care little for Pelosi, but she handed tRUMP his balls in a gift wrap box.

IMO, she f'd up her last go around. I am not a D, so what happens to them isn't much of a concern. Just like what happens to R's.
I would like for both parties to just go away.

A tRUMPer, trying to tell others that non tRUMPers are too stupid. Hilarious.

If he declares a Nat'l emergency to fund wall, it will be tied up in courts for so long, he'll never see the wall. He will have been dead a long time.
I made this very comment to another tRUMPer. He was lost as to what that meant and reported my post as a threat against a prez.
So, it is shown why a tRUMPer should never call anyone else, 'too dumb to understand'.

And another poster claims that being in the 35% of tRUMP support, and having had tRUMPs butt handed to him on the platter by Pelosi, was actually winning.

The court of public opinion was in her favor, and kept getting more and more in her favor.
The R's were losing and losing bigly in this fight.
So, it was fairly easy to keep the caucus in line, tRUMP was making the issue bigger and bigger and kept losing and losing. And 35 days later, he realized, he f'd himself and all the Rs backing him.

R's have mastered being an obstructive party. They did so for 8 yrs prior to tRUMP.
They spouted how they'd repeal and replace the ACA when they got power. And then they got power and fell flat on their face.
The R party doesn't know how to govern.
2 yrs, they had the gov't. And nary a word about the wall. And no plan to fund it either.

You think saying 'no' is an impressive negotiating tactic? Where was this when Republicans were denounced as the party of no? They must've been some expert negotiators! In reality, both Pelosi and Schumer are terrible negotiators. They had the deal they wanted, TWO YEARS AGO. All they had to do was take it. Now, they find themselves with a 3-week deadline to get to the same place they were TWO YEARS AGO.

That's not only bad negotiation, that's horrible negotiation. Here's what'll happen if Mr. And Ms. Stubborn can't come to terms: Trump will either use emergency powers(controversial) or executive orders(less controversial IMO) to begin the construction, the idiots will piss and moan, maybe they'll try the courts but they have no other recourse otherwise.

Wanna know what really impressive negotiating constitutes? It would've been being able to pull off wall for Daca. It would've been to simply take the deal from two years ago. Negotiating starts with recognizing the other side. But Pelosi/Schumer lack that ability. Which is why neither of them rose very far in the political world.

    Hmmm...
Money for barrier. Extension of DACA. Sounds like some old fashioned compromise might be in the making.

    I am 65 years old.

And the president does have the power to declare a national emergency. He is also constrained by a bunch of statutes that define "abuse of power".

Declaring a state of national emergency wrt the wall will be challenged in the courts as exactly that.

But I get how you have to hope that trump can win this, after his caving for nothing bigly win..

Should have been done during the Clinton administration or the Bush (43) administration or the Obama administration.

Or the 1986 Immigration Reform and Control Act should have been enforced but it wasn't except for the amnesty amendment that was added on to the bill to appease the Democrats.

It was the Immigration Act of 1965 that caused this mess we have today.

It was all based on lies.

The Democrats want more than citizenship for DACA illegal aliens but a blanket amnesty for all illegal aliens.
