They passed a number of good things while Obama was around. I have a feeling they will be able to push some things through with Trump, who really just likes writing his name on **** anyway. Just gotta retake the house and senate. So far things are looking ok on that front I'd say!

I don't want to get too off topic here since this is about the SCOTUS, but here is the data that makes me feel relatively confident. Still cautious this far out, but feeling pretty good.

Can we all stand back for a moment and contemplate a central issue in all this that US citizens on both sides of the house appear to have no. understanding of. We are now witnessing a central fault and consequent dangers to so called US ‘democracy’ the absurd powers the US executive branch are given by the constitution.

It was decided when Clinton was indicted but was not prosecuted even after he was impeached and the SC office then held prosecution or threat thereof until he was leaving office. Kavenaugh was part of that team. Why should it be changed for Trump?

If he is indicted then impeach and remove but remeber the Democrats have already said perjury and obstruction of justice are not grounds for impeachment and removal.

O both sides of the house definitely have an understanding, and a better understanding than you could imagine. The power has been shifting from the legislative to the executive branch for over a century now . Which is why both sides of the aisle push so hard for their parties agenda, and also why this pick is such a controversy despite the fact everyone knows a SCOTUS shouldn't lean right or left, but stand dead center and follow the constitution verbatim. And the powers the constitution give the executive branch are only absurd when it opposes ones personal beliefs.

Did anybody notice how Kavanaugh played 4D chess?

He talked about how current Justice Kagan HIRED him at Harvard to teach. That means that when dems say that Kavanaugh is racist, sexist, transphobic, etc, we can retort with “wow. So Justice Kagan and Harvard hired and continued to pay such a shitty person!?” Beautiful 4D chess!

Polls in which they still LOST. They're bragging that they're losing less. I mean, when you're on the rock bottom I guess you have to cling to something.

I noted it during the entire speech. Kavanaugh already prepared himself for the Confirmation Battle and fired the first salvo at Democrats. Shame that this is what confirmation meetings have become, but great to see he's well prepared.

I'm....kind of shocked that I find this pick to be absolutely reasonable. A con to be sure, but not a hardcore partisan.

It was “decided” but not by the Supreme Court. Some crimes may not be able to wait until someone is out of office.

That’s an odd argument to make when trump hired so many admitted and accused felons.
I think he was just trying paint himself as a well qualified and respected by both sides, and it sounds like he is.

He’s a W guy who worked on the whitewater investigation. He sounds like a fine guy but he’s highly partisan. Of course that doesn’t mean he was or will be as a judge.

Impressive. However, if you look careful you will see the Democratic Party advantage declining with the passage of time on your chart.

Actually, even that isn't necessary. Rather, it will be someone who claims to to know someone who claims to h ave been sexual harassed as a student by a teacher in the same school that Kavanaugh was in back in high school in the 10th grade, who told a friend who told Kavanaugh and Kavanaugh didn't do anything about it.

We abide by laws. Where its allowed we will.

    Where its illegal, we wont.

    But we will carry.

    Did your son serve?

Who would want to serve under Obama?
