Meh. They took back the house with an average number of seats, but LOST seats in the senate which is rare. I wouldn’t call it a win. I’d call it a push. It certainly wasn’t a “blue wave”.
No they haven. Republicans abandoned Trump and bailed out - 35 or so frigging incumbents vacated their seats, remember? Not gonna happen again, my friend. Democrats no longer gonna get a free ride.
Before 2018, the Republicans controlled both chambers. Now the Democrats control the House. I'd say the Republicans lost half of what they had. And now that the Democrats have gained control of the house. The Mitch McConnell Senate has returned to its usual block everything MO. Trump too. Nothing is happening, we are just waiting for the next election.
Before 2018, the GOP controlled both houses. After 2018, they only control one, but picked up more seats in that one making it even more in their control. And this senate is just like Harry Reid’s, but I’m sure you were ok with that. I’m not ok with either of them doing it, but I’m also ok with gridlock as that means freedoms aren’t being eroded when new laws aren’t passed.
Across the country Democrats won House seats by around 55% to 45% of the vote. In some states, the Democrats had to break the 60% thresdhold to defeat the gerrymandering. This is consistent with the polling that puts Trump's approval at 40% and his disapproval at 59%. Anyhow, I live on the West Coast. People make fun of conservatives all the time. Yet Republicans still lose badly.
