Reinforce ICE with the military. The military cannot use force to stop the illegals. However, they can free up ICE personnel so that as many ICE personnel as possible can be put on the border to stop the illegals. Ultimately they need to build the wall.

 

DOD is trucking Jersey Barriers to the border. They are those concrete creations we see in the middle of some highways. Normally temporary. Easy to get across. Harder when armed men are there.

Who knows why the OP is angry all the time. This issue or that issue or other issues and out comes from the anti Trump press, quotes of them bawling their eyes out. For some reason the press despises Trump. Take the Scalise Shooter, the media never reported it as Trump hater shoots congressman. They did not want to discuss political sides. But the guy with the small water pipe with very low explosive powder in them is called out as a man standing up for Trump who got caught. I call it yellow journalism. Don't fear, our military is up for the task and will stand proudly guarding this country.

"The massing of American troops comes as Mr. Trump has seized on the caravan as a closing political message in the final week before the midterms, warning darkly — and without evidence — that “Middle Eastern” people are part of a dangerous mob of migrants threatening to surge into communities here."

"The rare use of the active-duty military to bolster Mr. Trump’s campaign message has intensified criticism that the president is using the military for political gain."

Trump's transparent Election Day P.R. move is so obvious it is childish and comical.

What is not so comical is how much this will cost the taxpayer. It will be in the millions. Trump is attempting to buy Republican voters.

One wonders if the opposite will be achieved. Trump has a history of saying or doing the worst possible thing at the worst possible moment.

Those illegally entering should be dealt with according to our laws. Those who enter the U.S. at border crossings requesting asylum should be dealt with according to our laws.

They are there for maintenance and taxi service, possibly eyes on the border when they are not busy with their other duties. Their orders expressly prohibit the troops from engaging with any of the migrants or conducting law enforcement activities, which would run those troops afoul of the Posse Comitatus Act, which prohibits federalized troops from conducting domestic law enforcement.
