Not enough justices disagreed with it.

In the original decision there were two who thought it was very flawed and you should read their dissent to see their very valid points.

Since the Court now has new members its likely that they will overturn it and put it back on the states until a new case, with less flaws is presented to them for a ruling.

Roe v. Wade was a pure mess, and it was affirmed under political pressure.

The Court never should have even heard that case because it didn't meet the qualifications.

beer summit - would not have been necessary if the cops had not engaged in profiling a distinguished black professor or anybody else. Had it been a white guy who was stopped by the feds, right wingers would have called for him to exercise his 2d Amendment rights. Such rights which always go out the window when it is a black guy at least according to the far right.

For years, Democrats tried to portray themselves as tough on border security, even as they argued for amnesty for all illegal immigrants currently in the country. Sometimes they slipped, as Hillary Clinton did when, in a paid speech in 2013, she talked about her dream of open borders. (She quickly tried to explain away her comment, once it surfaced, as having to do with energy.)

But several events over the past few days have blown the party's cover on illegal immigration.

Also, you get the feeling that Qiu missed it when the Democratic National Committee’s deputy chairman Keith Ellison, who has represented Minnesota’s 5th District in the House of Representatives since 2007, was photographed recently wearing a shirt that says in Spanish, “I don’t believe in borders.”



Because they don’t recognize that border. They don’t think the U.S. Has a right to defend it. They view American nationalism as racist and imperialistic.

Nancy Pelosi made this clear with two statements on the border yesterday:

“We are all Americans — north and south in this hemisphere”

And, most disturbingly for anyone who respects out borders and the rule of law:

“This is a community, with a border going through it.”

The one matter you showed which may be construed as open border is Ellison is who is a Muslim. When Chicago reporter Eric Zorn inquired about his view Ellison did not reply. Certain Muslims so far as I know adhere to the Koranic concept of all being equal before their god and that borders constitute a form of idolatry. Thus, if it is true that he doesn't believe in borders, it's not his politics but his religion that he is affirming.

 

A couple of thoughts occurred to me after I posed the above ^ but my ISP went kaput and I did not get a chance to add to it.


Re Biden, it will be noted that what is today North America was at one time 100% non-white. As time progresses, the skin tone is gradually darkening back to its old roots. Borders have nothing to do with that - just time rolling along.

And one last thought re Ellison and his Muslim belief that there should be no borders - as Americans we believe in the separation of church and state. Therefore, the government should have nothing to do with church affairs. And if the churches grant sanctuary, it is their right to do so. It follows that mosques have the same right. All conservatives, if they are principled should agree.

 

Saying the Second Amendment means separation of church and state was a mistake by a Liberal dominated USSC. The Second Amendment says no such thing.

The skin tone is changing back because of legal and illegal immigration. They have been saying for decades that there is only about 11 million illegals in this country. I believe it's closer to twenty million.

 

Disestablishment is a matter of 1st Amendment, not 2d.

Re those ''illegal'' Mexicans, please note as I have stated before a long while ago on this forum, many 'Mexicans' were forced to move south of the present border by hordes of white settlers and the US Cavalry during the racist era known as Manifest Destiny. Many of those people do not and never did acknowledge anyone's right to force them south as the land was called Aztlan:







They are only re-claiming what has always been theirs since time immemorial.

So? America is a Native American country...brown people. White people are not natives...white Americans ARE immigrants. In fact, South Americans are more native to the region that white Americans are.

The real issue...THE REAL FEAR...for white Americans is that when they're a minority that the majority will treat them like they've treated every other minority. Soon, you'll be the Muslims and be targeted just for your religious beliefs...or you'll be the Native Americans and have your land stolen...or you'll be the Black Americans and be sold on auction blocks and exploited, raped and murdered while building the country for free...or, or, or...all the other crappy ways that white extremists have treated minorities over the years and even still today...while I'm listening to the news talking about racist commercials and racist robocalls.

Well there's good news and there's bad news. The bad news is that there is nothing you can do about the country returning closer to its natural roots of being more brown. But the good news is that minorities are better than white extremists. They are more humane and decent and won't lower themselves to that level. The world won't end for white Americans if they aren't the majority. Decent humans...no matter what color they are...know that. Extremists are just freaking out because they think everyone's as cruel, ignorant and inhuman as they are.

 

I’ll agree with you. I’m not a Republican, but closer to Republican than the other current options. I am also a farmer and rancher who hires immigrant day labor several times a year.

Something like e-verify would be great. It would make things easier for me. I am pro immigration but anti illegal immigration. Without immigrant labor you all would not eat well.

Immigrant labor (legal and illegal) here in agriculture and construction is paid well. They are doing work no other demographic will do at any wage level.

Most of the guys I’ve hired are from Mexico and Guatemala. They are fun to be around. Several I’ve hired and a few I’ve done other business with I’m proud to call my friends.

The idea that the average person happy with Trump’s performance as president is a xenophobe or hates brown people is absurd. As is the notion opposition to illegal immigration = opposition to legal immigration.

There's only so many times you can pull the race card before it becomes white noise. It became white noise a long long time ago.

The left needs a new argument as preaching to the dwindling converted is not working out for them at the moment.

Importing unskilled labour in unrealistic quantities and hoping Santa Claus will sort it all out is not a long term solution.

First it wasn't a conservative court it was one of the most liberal in history based not on who appointed it but on its decisions.
