If an unaccompanied child shows up at the border he goes into protective custody. He has separated himself from family before ever reaching our border.

If a child shows up with his family, who are being detained for breaking the law, he still goes into protective custody because a child cannot go to adult jail with mommy and daddy.

You do know that none of the Japanese in Hawaii were placed in concentration camps. They were locked up on the mainland because of the racist propaganda against the Japanese. If they had remained loose chances are they would have been killed.

 

This is a common sense issue. A lot of people do not want the country to be invaded by illegal aliens. So they support measures that will prevent that from happening. If locking the kids up doesn't eliminate the problem then stronger measures will be taken.
