At peak in the spring, we got quite overwhelmed and busy here and unfortunately even had some fatalities among the staff directly involved in Covid-19 care, but we never really went above capacity, here. I do understand that in certain parts of the country, it was worse than this.

As for "nobody knew" - as soon as the virus showed up in China and started spreading to South Korea and all, and before it was prevalent here, we had a Grand Rounds presentation on it and started making contingency plans. A committee was created under the authority of the Executive Committee of the Medical Staff, with the CEO of the hospital as a member together with his top deputies, and we immediately started planning for various scenarios, and how to react, regarding PPE, testing, patient management, isolation, wings, etc.

So... are you trying to smear Trump because he advocated following CDC guidance, or just because Trump is Trump?
Don't need to answer. We know.

It sounds like you are defending the guy who sent Covid cases to nursing homes in New York and was responsible for a lot of deaths. Is that right?

You're saying Trump was using CDC, so that the CDC is responsible for the nursing homes deaths.
Seems to be a simple rule for the left- they are responsible for nothing that turns out bad.
It's always somebody elses fault- which insures they will never have the capacity to manage anything well.

Trump's CDC said nursing homes should take in Covid patients, and not kick out Covid patients.

Your title is misleading because it is incorrect. You may want to read what you posted and try again.

It provided guidelines for WHEN a nursing home patient is returned from the hospital. Trump had nothing at all to do with the guidelines and guidelines aren't orders. These stupid posts are beginning to get to me.

The question is if covid patients should be mixed with non-covid patients. That was the catch that infected otherwise healthy but at risk people. I don't think you can find that recommended by Trump or the CDC, but it's clear that Andrew Cuomo ordered nursing homes to take in Covid-positive patients in the early day of the epidemic. No question of that. He also clearly stated looking back that "it was no mistake'. New York hospitals sent 6300 Covid patients to nursing homes under the order. The infection spread to the non-infected people, almost all at the worst risk level, and 6200 people died. Why does that not offend you? Did Trump sent agents to force Cuomo to do that? Yeah. That must be it.

sorry, buts its a FACT that the CDC, Trump's CDC, provided guidance to the States that patients in hospitals who have Covid should NOT be banned from nursing homes and patients in nursing homes who are infected need not be removed from the nursing homes.

I posted the official CDC guidance letters.
