Newsom proposed opening schools early. Schools are not the only issue. You can point at trump and criticize him for exploiting the virus, but you are not pointing with clean hands.

Challenge accepted. California enjoys a Democrat super majority and Trump has no voice here. Lets talk results.

What we are currently witnessing is Trump throwing out the kitchen sink. He's throwing more hysteria and confusion into the mix...AND he's not listening to the experts. Trump is a complete and total f*** up!

With each passing day, he behaves like a spoiled brat. Never in my entire life have I seen a president with such a complete and total disregard for human life and the science to save lives.

Calling members a liar is against forum rules. My posts proved that the person you accused of lying did not lie.

Trump let the governors handle their own states and supported them with what they needed. If it was mismanaged that is on them.

Nope. The buck stops with the POTUS. Trump said so himself before he became POTUS. He can't run away and hide in his bunker from that now.

Sorry but you are wrong. Trump did what he could do on the federal level even when Pelosi and the dems were calling him Xenophobic. Trumps response to the Chinese Caused Pandemic has been stellar.

Not my words Chief. The buck stops with the POTUS. Trump said so himself.

I’ll be honest, I didn’t think of it as an irony. But know that you brought it up? There is an irony. The US has alienated itself in the international sphere, and there is no one to blame but the system that enables Trump. The fact is, he is not a good leader. He was the leader people wanted because they were desperate. And now look at them? Clinging to him no matter what, I worry there is an analogy to an abusive relationship. Trump has enboldened abusers to act out, making the rest of us going along with him against our better judgement. He is simply, the man the founders feared.

And when it came from Europe and it was spreading there, he told everyone to come home with next to no warning or telling people what to do. Or when health officials were telling him that was too late, what then?

You would first need to explain why California's handling - a State where you argue Trump has no voice - could be used to evaluate whether Trump has failed as a leader on this issue.

Hell, one could make the argument that, presuming you wanted to claim that California has done a bad job, that Trump's failure as a leader is still to blame because a better leader would have a voice in a state that is still super majority controlled by the other political party.

Why does the limitations on the federal government mean that trump has to lie about the virus, downplay the threat of the virus, tout the benefits of the virus, lie about testing, or attack governors for being insufficiently appreciative of the federal response?

"don’t think “the average American” wants to see opening the schools turned into a political game"

I just wish in regards to opening schools the administration would be honest for their reasoning it's about money.

Just a fancy way of saying the buck stops at the president and that should be common sense imo

Both parties screwed the Covid pooch. I don't consider Trump or Newsom great leaders. (Or great anythings)

The buck stops at you! Trump did not force you to get within 6 feet of others.

    Covid is not Trumps fault.
    Ebola was not Obamas fault.
    SARS was not Bush's fault,
and most STDs were not Clintons fault.
