There are only 2 types of citizen defined in US law. Citizen at birth and naturalized. That’s it. Both Ted Cruz and Obama are natural born citizens.

Which is irrelevant. Justice Gray stated in his ruling that he had to use British common law in making the determination. He detailed how natural born citizen (US) and natural born subject (England) are identical. In that ruling, he states that the status of the parent is entirely irrelevant. Physical presence inside the borders is enough to satisfy “jurisdiction” and makes anyone born inside the borders a natural born subject/citizen. The only exception to this is if they aren’t under the jurisdiction. Such as an invading army or foreign diplomat.

    Oh it doesn't stop there.

The only Democrat to argue for the 14th Amendment, Sen. Johnson of MD , said this:

“[A]ll persons born in the United States and not subject to some foreign Power -- for that, no doubt, is the meaning of the committee who have brought the matter before -- shall be considered as citizens of the United States.”

So if you enter legally your kids don't become citizens.

You have to enter illegally for that.

    Brilliant.

you do understand that what you quoted supported his argument and refuted yours right?

Huh? ANYONE born on US soil is a US citizen. Only exception is foreign diplomats with immunity, or children of an invading army.

I love your interpretation of things. It's quite funny.

Tell me, what is the definition of "alien", in the context of immigration?

What about foreign diplomats who sneak into the country.

We've been told it over and over again, like it's a fact. But almost always no one ever mentions the other side.

Where are you getting lost? There are only 2 exceptions to birthright citizenship. Foreign diplomats and invading armies.

I'd suggest reading slower if that's your grasp of the English language.

It is a fact. It’s written in plain English in the 14th amendment. If you want to get rid of it, you will need an amendment.

    We only need a reinterpretation.

That doesn't require any revision to the text of the Constitution.

Here, try counting again. Let me know if you need help.

this will not, of course, include persons born in the United States who are foreigners (1), aliens (2), who belong to the families of ambassadors or foreign ministers accredited to the Government of the United States (3)

I couldn't find "children of invading armies" in the quote. Do you have a more complete reference?

You can’t reinterpret plain English. And the court has ruled on this already.

Getting rid of an amendment, requires a change to the constitution.

Wongs parents were in the US legally

But illegal aliens are not supposed to be here which makes their children illegal also
