Yes, Obama insisted that people be treated equally in terms of being able to attend such institutions.

Trump is saying that he hates what schools teach and thus wants to defund them.

That is a VERY different issue. Trump is anti-science and anti-education. And, he wants the federal government to take action against educated thought.

The government can not be allowed to control thought.

How about anti-social justice, anti-Liberalism, and anti-indoctrination? Why are you for all these things?

Are you kidding? US federal pell grants were attached directly to Common Core. But up is down in common sense word, as Zorro has pointed out.

I want to defund them because they aren't federal institutions and the federal government has no business funding them in the first place. Trump is not anti-science or anti-education. He just hates that schools teach anti-American things just like I do.

Trump is attacking education because of what people who go to colleges and universities learn.

He hates the content. He hates that medical experts who have higher education degress disagree with him.

That's what he is targeting. He wants government control over what people learn, enforced by federal control of funding.

And, that is obviously and profoundly unacceptable.

Attacking the possibility of our children having unfettered access to education is clearly a direct assault on those children.

You are going to have to do better than that - both in terms of what you are worried about and in terms of how you want to go about making any change you want to make.

Actually, the President was very clear about what he was saying on the July 4th holiday. This is a move against the 'knowledge' and 'education' that has formented 'police brutality' that is in reality, civilian brutality against other civilians.

You totally missed what was being discussed.

Common core is not an issue of content - it is an issue of education methodology. AND, it has nothing to do with higher eucation, which is what Trump has demanded to be investigated.

Trump is attacking what it is that is taught in higher education.

His objections stem from the fact that his ideas so often get refuted.

    What's your point?

Trump's ideas on policing are clearly founded in ignorance. And yes, thats undoubtedly one of the areas where he hates for his ideas to be refuted.

No, he is in fact anti-education. There isn't any question about that.

He hates medical science, for example.

    Science isn't anti-American.

It would be better if we worked it out now.

Waiting for mid January for the possibility of wokring on change is NOT sufficient.

That's half a year away! And, if Biden held the reings at that point, he certainly could not make any instant change, as change takes time.

    We need action today.

Let's remember that unfettered education IS leftist.

And, liberal arts merely refers to that which isn't vocational or technical.

One can get a bachelors or masters of arts degree in pretty much every topic available at the university level.

Is it possible that you are just averse to being educated in the humanities?

He didn't. The CDC did and the governors made the call. Nobody knows what to do. Open up everything and let the cards fall where they may.

Private colleges are businesses why should they be tax exempt especially if they are violating the 501C-3 status they are hiding behind?

The vast majority are not for profit entities. There is zero eidence of abuse of their standing. - like there IS for churches.

And, you are not admitting what Trump has STATED is motivating him.
